Good get!! Per ESPN recruiting - he scores a grade of 71 which isn't half bad Can play either guard or tackle. Welcome to the nest Marc.

Two-star prospect per Rivals that we got over most of the other MAC schools. Here is something from Buckeye Planet from late last year:

http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/news ... evens.html

My favorite quote:

"BPRT: What position would you prefer to play in college and why?

MS:In college I want to be a guard. I want to be a guard because I love to pull, trap, and blow people up."

I like that attitude.

Why do they do 40 times for Offensive Lineman? Any play which is designed for the lineman to run 40 yards is probably ill-advised!

I know for NFL scouting they take a 10-yard split out of the 40 time to show the initial burst and explosiveness. This could be the case for college scouting as well.
Finally a senior!

Funny story about the kid, Metz can back this up as well, before the game with when the potential recruits were on the sidelines watching the team warmup Marc and his dad came over to the student section and his dad yell that he just committed to Bowling Green and he was taking pictures of Marc with the students in the section. Thought it was very cool.

"Lexington High School's Marc Stevens is a physical specimen at a towering six feet six inches, a ham sandwich beneath three hundred pounds, and a slim forty inch waist"

A forty inch waist at this guys size must mean he's all muscle. Sounds like another stud for the Falcon OL.

He came up to us (the Fox) during pre-game to tell us he'd just verbally committed. Seemed like a nice kid. He said he plays tackle now, but is looking at guard at BG.

One key on the big Stevens kid: he was offered by the entire MAC plus other schools like Marshall. This is the type of recruiting situation that we must win on a regular basis. Obviously, you won't win with every kid you want with this type of offer list, but you must win a good share to compete for MAC titles.

Obviously, Marc felt good about the academic/athletic ombination at BG. Not to be overlooked is his high school and BG connection- DC Mike Ward is a Lexington grad. Probably enjoyed his tour of the Sebo Center too. What a building!

Go Falcons!

Good to see the staff addressing our needs at OL after this season. He sounds like a big kid who I'm sure will get the job done.

New start/ New "blocks of granit"?

Post by Class of 61 »

If you guys recall 5 yrs ago or so, we got commits from a LARGE group of LARGE men...who were dubbed the "blocks of granite" by some..... Kory and crew are now 5th year seniors...so it's definitely time to "restock" the O-line positions...we have some decent backups coming through now... but you can NEVER have enough O-linemen...or D-linemen for that matter.

We also have this guy who reportedly verballed to BG...nice couple of linemen!

I'm glad to see that BG is making its presence known in the state again. I was disappointed after last year's in-state showing. That is three Ohio recruits including the QB from Bellefontaine.

I was looking at BGSU content on espn.com and noticed two verbal comitments for the class of 08

Keith Morgan ATH Grade 45 (Bellefontaine)
Brandon Kluener OG Grade 40 (Colerain)

not sure if these two have been mentioned on here before or not, but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if it didn't help at all. If this is already common knowledge I appologize.

Looks like ESPN uses AZZ.com as one of its sources.
