52-0!!!!!!!
A shutout, baby! If this performance and hopefully a couple of losses in 20-25 territory doesn't get us ranked, I don't know what the heck will!
Omar Jacobs. Unbelievable. Are recievers are phenomenal. I can hardly even stand it.
Here's to hoping Jelani can keep up with Marshall's wideout next week!

That was the most impressive performance I have seen since the beginning of Urban's tenure. Everything we did on both sides of the ball with the first teamers was dominating.
Now we get the 2 weeks that I have been waiting for since the NIU game. Marshall is going to be fired up after last night's flop, but I don't think it's going to matter much. And let's give Jelani some credit -- he made two pretty good pass break-ups today, one of which was near the goal line.

Definately! Jelani even sacrificed his body in the endzone to make a big stop. Kudos JJ!
All I'm saying is that Marshall's will be the best recievers that we face all year. I hope he and our other DB's don't have a repeat performance of NIU, although I don't think that will happen the way these guys are dominating right now.
OH! How did I forget to mention this. I was sitting first row, BG side on the N30. In the third quarter when it looked as though Western might punch one in Mitch Crosley and about four other first stringers were BEGGING the coaches to put them in. And when they didn't put them in they were visibly upset. Now that, my friends is dedication to their team, their school, and yes even their mothers!

BUT WMU has to be one of the worst MAC teams I've ever seen.
Now it gets tougher and we don't need to be hanging our hats on this game.
I hang my hat on ANY solid performance out of this team. They can't change who they play, the fact is, they went out and took care of business in less than a full half of football, and have been doing so for 6 or 7 straight weeks now. I don't expect the Marshall or Toledo games to be 50 point blowouts, but I have total confidence that we are far and away a better team than either, so much so that the only worries in the fourth quarter is if there's any beer left at the tailgate.

Absolutely awesome all-around performance today! Omar and Co. were on fire, Pope was rolling and the D was stifling. Chuck made two great punt returns as well. Couldn't have asked for a better day for football
This really makes me want to come back up next weekend for Marshall...

Omar was unbelievable. For stats-minded people, what the official site says about him on the game notes is just incredible:
>Redshirt sophomore Omar Jacobs played just one half and completed 17 of 20 passes for an even 300 yards ... he also threw for four touchdowns, tying a career high ... Jacobs, who posted his fifth 300-yard effort in six games, leads the nation with 27 TD passes this year.
>That latter total ties Jacobs for the school record for TD tosses in a season ... the record has lasted all of one year, as Josh Harris threw for 27 scores last season ... Jacobs has the 27 TD passes and only two interceptions on the year ... his season total of 2,833 passing yards is the fourth-highest in school history, and his completion percentage of 69.5 has him on a pace to set the BGSU single-season record in that category.
All of me was hoping that Gregg would keep him in for at least the 3rd quarter, but I guess 17-20 for 300 yards is enough.
Boy was the second half boring. Jason Washington looked like he was lost out there. If not for some nice defensive stops we would have been in trouble.
Would have been nice to see Dan Macon out there getting a couple of runs. Stover was walking around in sweatpants. Not sure what was up there.
Quote of the night is a tie of two bites from Gary Darnell:
"I want to really congratulate Gregg Brandon, his staff, his football team, because they were absolute class-act today. Anyone that was there, anyone that saw it on TV knows that they could have named the score today. That was huge on Gregg's part."
On talking to FSN Ohio sideline reporter Sharon Thorsland at halftime...
"I said, `Sharon, you're not supposed to say stuff like this on TV, but this game's over. We're 49 points down. We've got to move on."

Their O looked worse than half bad today. i'd say at least 3/4 bad. It was definitely a fun game and Omar has me excited about the future of Falcon football after I graduate. His QB rating is insane, his completion percentage is unreal and he's an awesome guy on top of all of that.HuskieDan wrote:Good win guys. WMU is horrible, but their O isn't half bad, so it's impressive that you shut them out.
Now, be sure this team keeps its edge. We're counting on you to provide the knockout punch on the Herd next week, and don't be afraid to run up the score if you get the chance.
I'm more than excited for Marshall and I expect to be front row once again. Enjoy the win everyone!
Living in Virginia....so this is what elevation looks like =)
What about Oklahoma? Sure some might say besides Clayton they have nothing but I'll disagree with that. They defintely have better receivers than Marshall IMO!Bleeding Orange wrote: All I'm saying is that Marshall's will be the best recievers that we face all year.

with how dominating we are playing I don't think the Marshall game will be that close. I think we win by 3 TD's in front of a near sell out crowd. I know darn well that with the turnout we had today that it'll be even better next week with Marshall coming into the Doyt to try to push us around. We are about to crack into the top 25 for the 3rd straight season and a dominating win against Marshall and then Toledo would push us near 20th overall and that would absolutely ensure us a bowl game at 9-2. Top 25 teams don't get left out of bowl games.

I don't think Marshall stands a chance next Saturday. If they do win, I'll be the first to congratulate them on beating us. However, as much as we have talked about the 3-way tie for the West this year, the tiebreakers could come into play in the East. If BG beats Marshall, Akron loses at OU and beats Miami, and Miami beats Western next week, then we have 3 teams at 6-2 in the East with each of them being 1-1 against the other 2 teams. It will be a very interesting couple weeks in both divisions. NIU playing two good teams while they have played poorly in the last month and the East division turned upside down by Akron.
