I haven't seen them play a snap all season. What are their perceived strengths and weaknesses? How will we match up?

To start, the team is very banged up right now.

Starting QB, Kokal, was injured on Saturday. No one at this point outside the team knows the severity. That would mean Daniel Raudabaugh would get the nod. The QB situation has been under fire the whole season. Kokal has been the starter most of the season putting up less than stellar statistics. Everyone clamored for Raudabaugh who promptly started against Colorado and stunk up the joint. So, been a question mark all season. IMHO, he (DR) throws a great deep ball, but throws a terrible out pattern. My heart flutters every time he throws that ball. Could have been picked three times against UC with it, but got lucky 2 of the 3 times instead.

RB's: It's so hard to keep track of now, but I believe we're down to our third string RB. The touches are being spread around like the Packers offense. They are doing a good job.

WR's: Dustin Woods, probably our best WR was injured on Saturday. Status unknown.

Linebacker corp is banged up, everyone is banged up. Every team deals with injuries, just seems like ours run much deeper than normal.

So what Miami does and doesn't do well: I think they blitz pretty well and cover one on one decently. Good team speed, just not used effectively all the time. Run the ball well on offense behind a HUGE O-Line. Passing game is inconsistent, mostly stemming from the QB situation. Oh yeah, Jake Richardson punts the ball extremely well, ranking in the top 10 all season. Good for him, bad for Miami that he punts so often.

I haven't seen BG play this year except for a few highlights on tv. Other than knowing Sheehan likes to get lots of receivers involved, I have no idea how good the running game is, how good the D is, special teams etc.

Thanks for the info... here's my run down through BG's positions

QBs: 9/10 or 3/10...Well Sheehan has played extremely well all season up until our last game. He was taking care of the football and making the right reads, completing 65%+ w/ quite a few drops. But for someone reason he was throwing EVERYTHING high against BC and had 5 INT's. I think his sprained shoulder against WKU had something to do with that, but others on here have said no, so I hope that's the case.

RB: 2/10...Do we have a RB? Oh yes Bullock is a stud. A true powerhouse, but he most likely won't see the field. We've also been playing Geter here, a scatback true frosh, but he's really more of a WR. Don't worry about our running game bc we just don't have one right now.

WR: 9/10...Freddie Barnes and Corey Partridge are unstoppable. I don't care what your D does, these guys are gamers and will get at least 75 yards each if they stay healthy. Parks has really stepped in to the #3 role really well and has made some nice catches. We have about 5 other guys that can play the #4 spot. None have shown any consistency, but all have at least one circus catch or great run after the catch. So there is potential there.

OL: 4/10... We have one of the best centers in the entire nation. Outside of that we have nothing. Everyone on here was so excited about this OL and rightfully so, but we have seen 5th yr seniors make dumb penalities and give up key sacks game after game. This has to be the most disappointing unit so far this season.

DL: 6/10... This unit has played pretty well, save the BC game. All we heard about was how good Mich St's RB's were and they couldn't move the ball on our D-line. Also Briggs #99 is an excellent pass rusher.

LB: 8/10... Erique Dozier is the man. Not only does he have the ability to lay the wood, he also has speed to burn. He's a converted safety, but he plays bigger than his size. Haneline has also been flying around well and making tackles for us.

DB: 7/10... I think our DB's are playing well. Sure they have given up a few big plays, but man we NEVER get any pressure on the QB on those plays. Also this unit plays very well in the redzone and is very good at making plays. Kenny Lewis made a key FF/FR for a TD against Temple, and Mahone a highly touted recruit has made some athletic INT's.

K/P: 10/10... Color me insane but this is the biggest improvement in 1 year that I have ever seen in my life. Our kicker has made clutch kicks all year and only missed 2 FGs. One of which was a 56 yarder before half at MSU (he kicked the ball perfectly it just came up short). I believe our punter is averaging 45 yards a boot and hasn't had any blocked!

KR/PR 4/10: We've done nothing on PR's and are just now getting decent at returning kickoffs with Williams. Our kickoff coverage is pretty poor and BC exposed that. Punt coverage has been decent but not amazing. An area we need to impove heading into MAC play.



Hope this helps you out and gives you a better idea of where we are at. As you can see, I think our QB play will decide who wins this game. If we get the Sheehan of the 1st 4 games you don't have much of a chance I feel. However, if he still has BC on his mind lookout, it could be a turnover fest and our D has trouble responding when our O turns it over!

Understatement of the year. A friend and I were watching the game, and after a pass to Wright (with no audio in the bar), we went through about seven names before we figured out who it was, even after we were spotted the "W" on his jersey. We've got a lot of weapons at WR.

That's kind of an open ended question. What do you want to learn from Miami?

--How to keep a popped collar from falling down in the wind?

--How to pretend that you attend a "private" university?

--Axe Body Spray...how much is too much?

Narrow it down. There's many things to be learned from our brethren to the South.

The only thing you need to know about Miami is that there is this thing called the "MIAMI WAMMIE" which means that BG has generally had incrediably bad luck in playing this team. Miami, no matter what, will most always find a way to win against BG. It's always been that way. Maybe BG's luck will change, but don't hold your breath.

Thanks for your opinion....Was the miami wammie in effect last time BG went down to Miami and the Redhawks selfdestructed and got destroyed by the Falcons?

Unless you've followed the BG vs Miami games over the years, you wouldn't understand this Miami Wammie thing. Yes, BG has won some games, and in impressive fashion. All you have to do, however, is review the BG vs Miami won-lost record. BG (I believe) has a winning record over every team in the MAC save for Miami -- and that record is actually lopsided in favor of Miami.

I always thought the Miami Wammie was being slipped a roofie while you were distracted both from boredom brought about by the frequent use of the word, "public ivy" and the burning eyes from all the Axe Body Spray being worn in the Oxford bars.

Sure helps Miami's cause that they ran off oh, about 14 in a row in the 40's and 50's. They all count, unfortunately.
