Better crowd today

Post by BGSU33 »

I saw the attendance was 18,000 plus. I can live with that for this game, but hopefully we get a bigger crowd for the Marshall game. I'd love to see us get at least 25,000 for Marshall's last farewell.

I expect a sellout or at least 29,000. This is the best game we've gotten to see at the Doyt this year and it will be the last.

I'm sure Marshall will bring a lot in too being that they probably want to ruin our season! Too bad it won't happen for the Thundering Turds!!! There should be at least 25,000 though...

There had better be because I am buying it on ESPN Gameplan since I can't make the Trip from Delaware so I hope for a sellout crowd of raging falcon lunatics tormenting the Marshall players and sideline. I think we win huge next week by at least 3 TD's.

I've heard a bit of talk that quite a few Miami fans will be making the trip -- wearing BROWN and ORANGE -- simply out of their hatred for Marshall. So, on top of all of our faithful fans and the toothless hobos that Marshall will bring, I'd be willing to bet that we get a sellout.

It's not just out of their hatred for Marshall. If we beat Marshall, Miami will win the East as long as they beat Akron in the last game of the season. Sure they have hatred for the turds, but they need us to beat them if they want a good shot for the MAC East title.

Anyone is welcome into our humble home. If they want to wear BROWN and ORANGE and cheer for us that's a bonus.

The BG/Turd game is on FSN Ohio this Saturday. If you're a Directv customer, I suggest picking up the sports pack, otherwise you'll be flipping through GamePlan wondering where the game is.

Good crowd yesterday....not great but better than EMU and Ball State.

IF we don't get at least...umm....ah the hell with it. I'm tired of talking about that stuff. We've got 7 tix for this game and every one of them will be used. That's all I can control.

Our counterparts from Miami are welcome to wear any color they like. I expect there will be a few more bowl reps there, and they aren't likely to be looking at Marshall either. I think there is a subtle buzz building about this game. Its not like NIU last year, or a UT game. However folks would love nothing more than to see BGSU blowout the Herd. Blowing out CMU, thats not fun to watch. Blowing out somebody you simply hate, now thats worth paying to see.

18,000 at this weeks game isn't horrible as the last two games. However the spike represents family weekend at BGSU more than sustained progress. The same issues we've discussed remain.

I think Marshall will be a well attended game. I think we will easily pass 20,000, and depending on various things, this could be a 25,000 person crowd. I'm not expecting 30,000, nor even the upper twenties. Not yet. Lets see if somebody says something stupid, if the media starts building the game up, particularly in the Cleveland area. If the major alumni centers start seeing a lot of PR about the game, it will be a good thing.

Finally, lets consider the Herd fans. Does anybody know how well the traveled to Akron, or anyplace else this year?

They are actually advertising the game on local Toledo TV stations. What a novel idea. Where have they been all season long?
