Seriously, how can this guy get any better?

rating att com % yds yd/gm TD INT sack
170.1 321 223 69.5 2833 314.8 27 2 4

I honestly don't know how much better (statistically) he can get in the next few years. We really should push this guy for heisman next year. The same way we did for J5. In fact, why not start this year!!

Why doesn't he get the recognition he deserves? I understand we are a non-BCS school, but neither were other heisman candidates such as: Randy Moss, Steve McNair (D 1-AA), Alex Smith this year.

compared to other QB heisman hopefuls:
Jason White (ok) is 161-of-258 for 2,130 yards with 25 TDs and 4 INTs.
Jason Campbell (auburn) is 114-of-173 for 1,724 yards and 14 TDs and 3 INTs.
Alex Smith (utah) is 152-of-229 with 2,196 yards, 24 TDs and 2 INTs.
Matt Leinart (usc) is 176-of-274 for 2,068 yards with 20 TDs and 5 INTs

He is amazing but I doubt he will even be mentioned for it this year. If he keeps it up though, there is a good chance he could win it before he graduates. He needs to perform well against some better D-I schools before he gets some big time votes IMO. Boise State and Wisconsin next year will be a start!

Give it a year.

Omar needs to beat Marshall, Toledo, and whoever we play in the bowl game to get real attention from the media. Right now they're busy fawning over Charlie Frye and Brucie-Bruce.

Omar has amazing stats, however we don't have a quality win yet. We lost to the best two teams on our schedule up to this point. It's tough to win the Heisman without a few big wins on the schedule. Give it time. If we want Omar to be up for the Heisman, next year would be much better. With OOC games against Wisconsin, Boise State and Temple, Omar will get his chances to be in the national spotlight.
