Why Bowling Green is better than Michigan

Did anyone else just see this on ESPN?

I just got back from eating lunch at a sports bar. I happened to look up at the TV and saw the BG logo and the graphic said "Why BG is better than Michigan. It was Jay Crawford and three other people who I couldn't make out from my seat. There was no sound, but I am sure that Jay Crawford was ripping on his alma mater. If anyone else saw this could you please say what they were saying?

I wonder if it had something to do with Michigan playing Minnesota this week... though I don't see what that would matter, they might as well have said "Why ND State is better than Michigan"...or whatever.

If nothing else (and I didn't see this), I bet it was probably Crawford's biannual claim to BG so when they blow up, it's an easier climb onto the bandwagon.

I still haven't seen the segment, but they might have just had a "tease" on the replay, and the booth upstairs confirms the ruling on the field... Jay Crawford is a douchebag.

Rough paraphrase of what went down...

Crawford: "Wish me luck, I'm going behind enemy lines in Happy Valley this weekend."

Co-host Dana Jacobsen (Michigan grad): "Why should I wish YOU luck, Go Lions."

Crawford: "Who does Michigan have this week?"

DJ: "Minnesota"

Crawford: "Oooh, Bowling Green, my OTHER team, beat Minnesota. So if Michigan loses, Bowling Green is better than Michigan."

Michael Kim: "My "other" team? How many teams do you have?"

JC: You're allowed two.

MK: By what rule?

JC: Where are you from?

MK: Missouri

JC: Where did you go to school?

MK: Missouri

JC: Then you're allowed one.

MK: Then how come you're allowed two?

JC: I'm from Ohio, but I didn't go to Ohio State, I went to Bowling Green.

MK/DJ: Well then Bowling Green's your school.

JC: Blah, blah, blah...

I might give him a touch of a break on this if he wasn't a fan of his alma mater when it's convenient to thump his chest. Instead, he's a douchemonkey.

Despite who said it the fact remains BG is better than Michigan for one reason.....WE'RE NOT MICHIGAN! That one fact alone is what makes BG better than scUM.

Screw Jay Crawford and his Buck$ bandwagon seat. He's a total douche. My OTHER team? His "OTHER" team should be OSU. The only good thing about him is BGSU gets some mentions on the air...other than that, kizz my Falcon butt.

I can't stand it when some choch says "Well, I grew up in Ohio so....OSU".

Tell that to Charles Woodson...or Desmond Howard...or Elvis Grbac...or Bo Schembechler's spirit...or...I can go on and on. What a BS line. Hey, BGSU is in OHIO...so is UT (unfortunately! LOL), Miami, Kent State, Akron, Ohio U, Cincinnati, YSU, Ashland, Mt Union...ect.

So by that logic, anyone growing up in PA should be a Penn State fan...but they aren't. Anyone growing up in MI should be a Mich fan...but they aren't (See Craig Krenzel).

I'll spit on him if I ever see him in BG. Dude, you EARN you living with the degree from BGSU, not osu.

Did any of you people who criticize those of us that root for Ohio St. and BG ever consider that maybe other family members graduated or are going to Ohio State also? Our family supports both schools, I gradutated from BG and my brother graduated from Ohio State. I have two other family members who are or have attended Ohio State as I have other family members that went to BG. So lay off the BG and Ohio State fans! It only presents a problem when BG plays Ohio State and then I stay out of it!! A person CAN support two teams and I hate Michigan and Toledo equally!!!

Whoooooa there, Chuckles. I think just about everyone realizes that people can be fans of two schools. The reason that Jay Crawford resides in such a special place in our hearts is that he graduated from BG, yet constantly claims that Ohio State is "his school." That is garbage, and it is an insult to his fellow alumni. The only time he ever recognizes that he went to BG is when he is either shamed into it, or when we're nationally ranked. I don't care who he knows that went to Ohio State, the man is a phone, front-running jerk, and for those specific reasons, he can suck it.

if it did, Jay's argument holds no merit anyways. The transitive property cannot be used this year in college football. And yes, he is a huge tool. He's a typical Ohio State fan boy who has to have either his alma mater or another regional team to fall back on if the Suckeyes have a bad season.

There we go freak, thats the same logic I bring up when discussing this. I always wonder how that logic would work in Texas, I mean you got Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech, not to mention plenty of other schools
