Freefalcon...I'm with you on that...C'mon folks, we're all bummed about yesterday's game, but that's no reason to be jerks about it when people go out of their way to post a great photo like that. Thanks for sharing freefalcon!!! And (if I haven't do so already) allow me to welcome you to the board...and I presume the BG community(?)

So far as the OL verbals go I'm STOKED to hear that we are getting these kids into the program. We're graduating some very talented guys over the next year or two and we definitley need to get the next wave rolling. From what I've gathered, all four of those young men have numerous options other than BGSU in and out of the MAC. It speaks well for the program and the University that we're landing this level of talent.

I saw another big boy from Licking Valley in the stands yesterday among the recruits. His mom was wearing an OU jacket but he bought a BG stocking cap and was also wearing a BG football sweatshirt. The back of his jacket said wrestling and it looks like he is graduating in '10. He had to be 6'6.

Sry, I didn't mean to sound ungreatful for the post and pic. I was venting on the frustration that we have this terrible D and it looks like all we keep doing is signing offensive linemen. When are we going to be able to get excited about a big time linebacker or d linemen.

Hey, I feel your pain too Falcon137. Yeah, these 4 O-lineman are great gets it appears. Yeah, I'd love to see us get a huge D-lineman or Linbacker recruit too.

I'm not so sure the four guys in that picture are slated to play OL. ;-)

So are they line recruits or ol recruits?

They are been recruited to play on the OL line. I was told the team will have 5 OL scholarship this year. I know they are working on another big guy out of state. If they get him this group can be special in the years to come. If they red shirt all 5 (good possibility) that means in their 2nd year there will only be 7 upperclassmen (4 of the 7 will be seniors) in front of them. That means a lot of playing time is a very good possibility. It is mostly likely the reason why they committed early too. Also, Coach Campbell has developed a very good relationship with them throughout the recruiting process. Now with that all said...everything can change in the future.

There was a 08 defense player that committed this past week end. With that commit, BGSU got seven very good players coming to play a little of football in the future. Also, so far all of them are from Ohio too. Nothing like keeping them in Ohio.

I've yet to read or hear anything that suggests these guys are anything but offensive linemen. Since we only recruited one OL last year and one the year before, I think we need to go at it heavy in that direction this year. Looks like we're off to a great start.

Well, if the one guy is 370, that's the size of two Willie Geters so if he just stands there on defense it would take two running backs to get by him. Or something-good God is he really 370? we had a 6'8", 358 lbr a few years ago that used to run the ball on punt fakes and I never saw anybody so huge. Sounds like this guy dwarfs him.

Falcon137 brings up a good point though. Until we actually get some defensive playmakers, we are not going to be competitive for a MAC Championship. We've got most of the offensive pieces in place (although some OL do need to be replaced next year), but as far as I'm concerned there are few players on defense worth keeping around right now. Other teams are recruiting defensive talent, why can't we?

Or I am to guess that we are recruiting good defensive players and GB/Mike Ward is ruining them with "bad fundamentals?"
