According to a blog on the Akron Beacon Journal website...

Brookhart press conference quotes
Football

Key points from Monday’s press conference…

Dennis Kennedy hasn’t been running as well this year, and J.D. Brookhart says he doesn’t know why. That’s funny, because the coach was raving about DK to me during camp.

Chris Jacquemain has faded in every second half, Brookhart conceded. His overall grade is a “C.” I’d move that down to a “C-.” I guess no one asked him who would start Friday. I will have the depth chart today probably, though.

The new depth chart is a colossal disappointment to me. Chris Jacquemain is still the starting quarterback. Here are some minor changes… Andre Jones and Phillip Morris now share the secondary kick return job. Bryan Williams remains the primary weapon. John Stec retook the punting job (not that he ever lost it) with an above average game at Buffalo.
:-D

Man, reading that stuff makes this past week look like a tropical cruise in BG. The Zips are really in a funk and we gotta POUND them from the get go. They really have no offense...their D is pretty good, though. Reggie Corner, former BG recruit and DB, is a SR now. I don't want him beating us 3 straight times as a former recruit.

We gotta blitz this QB from the beginning and get him rattled...I feel BG is the better team and should win this game. As long as we play the way we're capable, we will be fine.

And how about Phillip Morris doing kick returns? For every 10 yards extra on returns, the fans get a free pack of smokes. :smt025

GO FALCONS!!

Depends if Jekyll or Hyde shows up!

Agree that if we come out with fire and intensity, we should roll!

Hopefully we can come out and get it done, and then see if some Saturday carnage can help us out.

We focus so much on the issues that our team has that we sometimes fail to realize the hard times that have beset other programs. Every league team but 3 has at least two league losses like BG does. Among the 3 that don't:

-Buffalo (3-1) was 12-79 over the past 8 years since joining Division IA.

-Miami (3-1) still has an overall losing record this year and went 2-10 last year.

-CMU (4-0) lost 44-14 to I-AA North Dakota State at home.

Yep the whole MAC is pretty poor this year.

Doesn't make me feel better about our team. If anything it makes me feel worse knowing that we have the talent to roll through this league and we cannot do it.

I agree the MAC is down this year. If anyone has been disappointing in 07, it's been Kent State and WMU. They both were picked to win their divisions and are on the brink of losing seasons.

Took a correspondence course from the Lou Holtz School of How to Conduct a Press Conference

If GB was able to step back from being the HC and put on his OC hat again and work with the OC, keep his hands out of the D...it could be good. i have just come to look at this program like a box of chocolate's...

Wouldn't Lou Holtz say "I have no idea how we can even compete with Akron."

And now you know why you should never take a course via correspondence - you lose out on some things.
