The team, being inspired by a post from VDub26Falcon that asked for the team that played Minnesota to show up, does just that. They remember how they left it all on the field in that game and go for broke every single play...defense plays HUGE for the ENTIRE game...BG gets first shut-out in eons.
BGSU - 49
A-Kron - 0
*How's that for a bold 300th post?

Last-second 65-yard field goal by SV saves the day for BG.

I predict that I will yell "Hey Zippy, show me your pouch" should the
(CR)Akron mascot make an appearance

Akron 35
BG 17
I think the losses of CP and Geter are really going to hurt us on offense. The defense will hold us in check for 3 quarters, but will eventually get worn down. I hope I'm wrong...but this game can really mess us up for the remaining 3 games.

I would love to see the Freaklings go after Zippy the way they roughed up Charlie Cardinal in Muncie, 2005.
I don't know if the Freaklings will be going or not. Josh wants to see if his friend can spend the night and Jake may choose not to go...don't know for sure.
I may have 3 extra tickets but dammit, I'LL be there!!

Our defense is awful and too many injuries to key players on offense.
Akron 32
BG 19
(and our coach sucks)

An ugly game. BG pulls it out on a late FG.
23-20.

Derek Brighton steps it up big time and leads the team in receptions. Dan Macon, Chris Bulloch, and AT all rush big time. Offense moves fine, defense plays inspired, forces a bunch of turnovers.
BG 38, Zips + refs 13

Tis a sad state for the football program when the Freaklings may not even wanna go to the game...

hammb,
I think it has more to do with Josh wanting to go to EMU instead. I cannot get them out of school early both tomorrow and next Friday. Jake? He just marches to his own beat. LOL!

After getting the first 5 games right this season, I've missed on each of the last 3. I need a victory to re-establish my own credibility.
Some have decided I should pick Akron just so I'd be wrong again, but I don't deal with superstition. Honestly for once I think our defense will be the difference maker. After getting torched last week, they'll be pissed like they were against Kent State and the poor Akron offense will be the unfortunate ones in the end. Offensively we're going to lose a bit of firepower without CP (I've heard Geter's not out and that he's practicing actually) but in the end the defense carries the day for us.
Akron 17
Bowling Green 31
