This was in the ST, some promosing news about our injury situation:
There’s some good news on the injury front for Bowling Green football.
Standout linebacker John Haneline does not have a broken foot and he could still play this season, BG head coach Gregg Brandon said Monday.
A junior, Haneline was leading the Mid-American Conference in tackles before having to leave BG’s game last Friday with Akron midway through the second quarter with the injury. His total of 10.7 tackles per game is still second in the MAC.
“He’s probably done for this week. He’s got to wear a boot for a couple of days,” Brandon said. “I won’t rule him out for the season.
“He just strained a ligament and that’s something that’s got to heal. Obviously you can’t put any pressure on it when it’s healing,” Brandon added. “I hope he’s a fast healer.”
Safety Jerett Sanderson (quadriceps pull)); defensive ends Joe Schaefer (foot) and Jacob Hardwick (ankle); and running back Willie Geter (ankle) could be ready for this Friday’s game at Eastern Michigan. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
Tyler Sheehan, BG’s starting quarterback, had been bothered by a shoulder injury for about a month, but he said Monday he is 100 percent.
