14 verbals
I was listening to the coaches show tonight and the coach said we have 14 kids commited right now at this time and he said it's not been done before sence he has been here and we still got 8-10 to give out and now we need to hold onto the kids we do have

RE: Verbals
While it's MUCH too early to project WHO has verballed, since the kids aren't locked in to anything right now, I find it surprising that the few recruiting sites I've been able to hop on show either 3 or 4 kids, including Kevin Leady, who, I understand, has changed his mind about FB, due to his Baseball talents... Still, it'd be nice to see some NE Ohio kids "officially" announce they're heading to NW Ohio ( and I don't mean to Blue/Gold country)..... I know we can't publicize names per se...but there's always ways around that little rule... "sources say" etc. is usually a good one, unless the kid himself ...or his coach...makes the announcement that he's committed.

A kid down here at Bluffton HS apparently verballed to BG just last week. His name is Michael Ream. Looks pretty versatile -- a few box scores have him getting extra point duty too.
From the Advertiser Tribune:
"Big play tight end Michael Ream was held to no receptions for no yards in the first half but in the second half, the tables were turned. Ream hauled in a 19-yard pass from quarterback Jarod Davies and just like that the momentum swung in favor of the Pirates. At the drop of a hat, he's ready again.
"Ream is number four, and he's a pretty special kid," Mohawk coach Erik Baker said. "We'll see him at wideout, tight end and defensive end. He's getting a good look from Bowling Green. Actually it helps us when he's at tight end. It's when he's in the slot that we're worried. It's like having a dad playing in the backyard with a little kid. He'll just dominate. Or like in high school against Randy Moss. He's the best athlete on the field."

I can officially say that Michael Ream is on board and eligible. He seems like a good kid from a solid support system. I met him last weekend at the pre-game festivities and when I asked what position BG wanted him at, he replied "tight end."
So can someone explain the logic between having 4 tight ends now and then we recruit more?
Hopefully someone described as the "best athlete on the field (at the D-6 level)" will eventually see a weight room and a defensive playbook. It worked for Matt Leininger.

I can tell you that Michael Ream has been around Bluffton for some time and has always been a fun kid. I've met/talked with him a few times, and I'd love to have him in a Falcon uniform.
Speaking of tight ends, any chance that kid from WMU could transfer to BG...
