Here's hoping we can get some help again this week and Akron beats Miami. This is a Wednesday night game on ESPN2 so I figured we could get the discussion going. I'll say one thing, if we can get through this week with Akron helping us again, and BG taking care of their own business, it'll make for a fun Thanksgiving weekend.

Of the four games we need to go our way to win the East, I think this one is the most unlikely. If Akron pulls off the upset here, I think we might seriously have to consider the MAC Championship as a B!G possibility.

I agree...this is the game we need most besides beating Buffalo. Akron? Can they do it? I think they can. I'm not sure there will be a great crowd there Wed night so that will help the Zips.
The Zips played well vs Ohio U and that gives me hope they want to finish the season strong.

Freak, do you get the feeling that at this point in the year, home field advantage means next to nothing in the MAC? With the poor crowds and all?

I'll be going out wednesday night to watch the game. I wish we could get "Fear The Roo" shirts for all of BG this week.

I'll be at the game along with another 8 or 9 thousand people. I saw MU beat Buff, Syracuse, BG and get drilled by Cincy. I really doubt MU loses this one unless they are very careless with the ball and Akron plays great. I believe MU is favored by 8 1/2.
Go BG!

With the exception of the UC game, Miami has been awefully dominating at home this year. Something to do with familiar surroundings I suppose, but I'd be shocked to see Akron come in and win this game.
College football has been crazy this year, but the MAC has been pretty consistent with home teams winning the big games.

Well, it certainly isn't as BiG a factor as in years past! For example, Kent beat OU in Athens. OU beat BGSU in BG and yet BG beats Kent at Kent???? That's crazy!!! (as Brian Fellow would say!)
Miami will be ready Wed night...I don't doubt that. But Akron can play loose and carefree since they have nothing to play for but pride now. As far as the size of crowd? I think that will play a part. If MU had 20K? Forget it...that place would be rocking. But less than 10K? Not as easy, IMO.
We'll see what happens....

I was at the BG/Miami debacle, and the students take up most of the "visitor side" of the stadium up.....The only problem is crowd rettention. There was less than half of the student body left after halftime. They can rock the house there until the popped collars and Ugg boots want to go play some beer pong.
