MAC West Champion Scenarios

Post by mollautt »

=>Following MAC West Scenarios...

I. NIU Beats Toledo: NIU

II. Toledo Wins Out: Toledo

III. Toledo Beats NIU Then Loses To BUGS:
A. NIU Beats EMU: NIU
B. NIU Loses To EMU: BUGS
[III.B. EXPLANATION AS FOLLOWS
1. BUGS Beat Marshall: BUGS has best record
2. BUGS Lose To Marshall:
a. EMU Beats Kent: EMU, UT, BUGS, & NIU finish 6-2. UT and BUGS have best head-to-head record (2-1) and divisional record (5-1). BUGS beats UT so BUGS wins
b. EMU Loses To Kent: NIU, BUGS, & UT finish 6-2. Once again UT and BUGS have best divisional record of 5-1 (assuming that is next tie-breaker). BUGS beat UT so BUGS wins]

I am sure I am missing something. I hate to say this since I need y'all to knock off da Herd, but this game vs. the Herdinistas appears to be irrelevant as far as your MAC West title hopes go due to the fact you win out in a 3 or 4 way tie for first place. BUGS just has to beat UT and have NIU lose both games.

BTW, I just copy and pasted it anyway from another forum.

Now, can we get back to bludgeoning the Herd?

Oh, man, that would be cosmic.

I don't know how many of you know the history, but some Marshall fans are still deeply bitter about a 66-6 pasting at Miami in 1971, the season after the plane crash. They believe Miami ran up the score and intentionally embarassed the Herd. Miami fans point to the box score, which shows about eight passes thrown all game.

=>WMU fans will NEVER forget the 52-0 beat down by the Falcons. The classless Brandon has Pope run up the middle just before halftime to score an 80 something yard touchdown. Pope should have taken a knee at the goalline instead of running it in. Broncos fans will never forget...

666? You mean like the combined offensive yardage from last weeks game?

What kind of crack do you smoke, regular or extra crispy? There is a line between not running up the score, and doing stupid things to keep another team from looking bad. Not that we could have made WeMU look good.

The WeMU fans are going to forget about this years game, as they try to forget about every game this year.

I just hope they find a way to knock off Marshall, if only for the heck of it, but it'll never happen.

=>NWLB & Kdog,

I guess you didn't get my sarcasm and parody of the Herdinistas still upset over the 66-6 score.

I did watch the game. BG certainly was not trying to run up the score. As Darnell said, BG could have scored 100 if Brandon so wished.

I thought everyone would catch that I included a quote on the Herdiban being upset in my post followed by "The classless Brandon has Pope run up the middle just before halftime to score an 80 something yard touchdown." I do not know how someone can call off the dogs anymore than run the ball up the middle. It is the next best thing to taking a knee.

It was funny guys. I am a barrell of laughs, just ask me! :wink:

Don't worry, I got you. Just look at the line score in the second half:

3 4 T
WMU 0 0 0
BG 3 0 52

@Green- what does "the weekend on Nov. 14th" mean? Was that the date of the imfamous game?
