What I don't like about CollegeFootballNews...

They give the mid-major schools absolutely no respect. It's bad enough that they have BG ranked 55, but it's so obvious that they give BCS schools the edge solely based on past history or the conference they play in. Obvious disrespect is how they have Boise (8-0) at number 25, but 5-4 Florida ranked ahead of them or what about Michigan state (4-5) ranked 36, 19 spots ahead of us. Even Maryland (4-5) ranked at 42. What a joke...

As some have already stated, this is exactly why we need a bowl against a BCS team.

I don't understand why people take that site so seriously.
It's the Spinal Tap of college football news sources.

I don't think CFN means any disrespect.:coo-coo: It just hard work to keep track of all those teams in 1A football.

It's just easier to rank the teams everyone knows at the top. A lot less research to do this way.

I actually like CFN. Where else can you find as much information about players and teams from the MAC, especially in the offseason? All summer long they had stuff about us being updated. I'm not saying I agree about their rankings either, but i think they do a pretty good job with keeping up with us. Just my opinion.

As I said in another thread, they do a good job until the season is a few weeks old, then they find their favorites and run with them. the year OSU won the NC, they busted on them week in and week out, then suddenly around late October, that team could do no wrong, and it was the greatest football ever played. With mid-majors, their like everyone else. If we would have beaten Oklahoma, they'd be all over us. Hell, even beating NIU after a loss to Oklahoma would get us pub in their eyes. Instead, they stick to their guns and think Brucie and the spRockets were tops in the MAC, but no one in the MAC is getting much love at all. (Not that we've deserved much thus far anyway.)

Although CFN predicted WMU would put 20 points on Doyt's new scoreboard, CFN also predicted BG would put 52 points on the board. Can't fault CFN for WMU's, er, gameplan, but I'll give CFN kudos for second guessing the home side of the scoreboard!
Disappointing as it is to see BG's, and for that matter NIU's, modest ranking, at least CFN have put the Rocket's where they belong. ESPN promoted BG to the all important mid major 6 pack this week, so we're in good compnay. All that matters this week is this week's game. Just do it!
