If you saw Lenehan's performance againt BSU you know you should be VERY afraid! Well, maybe not. Either way look to see lots of Parmalee left, Parmalee right and an occasional Collins sighting.

With this run defense and tackling "ability", that may be all the Rockets need.

That will be a bigger factor than the QB situation. And like RUIT notes, our recent tackling performance may prompt Amstutz to unveil a full-house backfield and the triple option.

We can "stop" a one dimensional attack (Kent State, Akron) teams that have the capability of running the ball and hitting the intermediate to deep throws (BC, Miami) give us fits.

Drew Willey's 70% completion rate would seem to indicate that Buffalo is thowing short, safe routes to augment the run. I think we can defend that kind of attack well enough to win this weekend.

So far as UT goes...Opelt gave us fits last year. Neither Cochran nor Lenehan appear to be anywhere near the running threat that he is. I would sell out the defense to stop Parmalee and force UT to beat us with the shaky Cochran (reads coverages really badly for a smart kid) and the freshman Lenehan (looked awful against BSU) throwing to a group of WR's and TE's who have been inconsistent all year..

Buffalo will try to pound it at us and we're a bit banged up already...the short week we have to recuperate from that worries me more tha the time UT has to prepare.

Totally agree on the TEs, but the WRs for Toledo have been great this year.
Stephen Williams and Nick Moore have both caught seven TDs and Williams is one of two receivers in the MAC over 1,000 yards. We will have to account for him.

So who is going to be their QB? That 3rd one that they substituted in for their Interception play, or is their a chance that Cochran comes in? I heard he was injured but he was also dressed for the Ball State game.

Pretty sure Lenehan gets the start. A lot of people wer disappointed when Opelt got the job back after his return. Lenehan played very wellfor a true Fr. The competition seemed to light a fire in Opelt as he was much better after his return. What you saw Tuesday is not what Lenehan showed earlier. But he is a frosh so who knows what we'll get Friday? Cochrane is unable to avoid the rush- Lenehan is a pretty good runner and throws a nice ball- not the arm strength of Opelt but throws the 30-40 yarder without problems.

Cochrane is certainly capable as well but we have to get away from the game plan that has been succesful for the last several games without Opelt. That will hurt and you should have no trouble beating us by several touchdowns. In fact anything less than a five or six TD win by BG should be viewed as abject failure on your coaches', team's and fans' part.

Opelt runs the UT offense VERY well, from what I've seen. He reminds me of Bruce a little bit.

UT's WR's have had some problems hanging onto the football for most of the season

Not nearly as bad as past seasons, and the Big Two of Moore and Williams have not had issues with holding onto the ball.

From what I've heard , Ut's receivers go 6'4 , 6'5 and something across the lineup and are apparently pretty fast. So if thats true its not gonna take a very accurate QB at all to beat us , he just needs the arm strength to heave it up in the air and let their guy out leap our secondary. I've seen to many cb's of ours get beaten to not think this won't happen vs UT.

Which QB was 10-19 for 38 yards against Kansas? That's who I want to start against us.

Opelt started against Kansas. Not sure what his stats were, and I think Cochran played some in the 4th quarter against KU. But then again you are talking about KU, who is 11-0 and will be #2 in the BCS when the poll comes out.

DJ Lenehan is a true freshman that has played well, but show inexperience at times.......like when he went in against Ball State and he played horrible.

That said, he threw for like 300 yards against Buffalo and almost orchestrated a 2nd half comeback. If he plays, we just don't know which Lenehan will show up. And by the way, he rushed for over 500 yards as a senior in high school last season and is somewhat mobile. Cochran is the only QB in our system that can't run. Even the other QB that is being redshirted, Travaris Cadet, has some big-time wheels.

Is Cochrane pretty much regulated to a "permanent" backup? He played at Wadsworth HS in our league so I was well aware of him. Has he just not gotten it done?

Opelt is the kid that scares the daylights outta me. When he's healthy, he runs that UT Offense extremely well.
