Toledo Week Starts Right Now!!!

Post by BGSU33 »

Yeah, we just won about 30 seconds ago, but it's now Toledo week! Heck, it's been BG week for Toledo since last Tuesday night. This is a HUGE game for many reasons for BG, and we are long overdue for a win over the Rockets. If we do, we're likely going bowling!

Yep! As the players were leaving the field, the Bulls win was over already.

BG will be ready...bank on that.

If one of the MACC Game participants finishes 6-7, which is likely, you are going bowling win or lose against Toledo. Right now CMU and Miami are both 6-5 with one more game before the MACC Game. They both play tought games and one or both of them could lose. If they both lose and are 6-6 going into the MACC Game, then BG and BSU are assured bowl invites.

The Falcons will be looking to win 4 in a row for the first time since the 2004 season. I can't think of a better team to do it against.

While on our way to the hockey game :( , we heard that "International Bowl reps were at our game and that an invitation was imminent". Also, "The winner of the MACC will be going to the Motor City and the GMAC has already pretty much decided on Miami". Anyone else hear this and more importantly, any truth to it? Freak - you were on the field - did you hear anything? Mitch has already told me that we have to get our passports. :D

Miami still has to win another game to become bowl-eligible, as does Central Michigan. As of right now I would say the International Bowl would be most likely followed closely by the GMAC. MCB would be a distant 3rd, followed by an at-large bid, followed by no bid at all.

I was listening to the Falcon post game show. They did say International Bowl scouts were at the game.

I did not hear the word "imminent."

The rest of what you say is more or less common sense, I think. The Motor City would definitely want Central Michigan, and the GMAC, which actually has first pick from what I understand, would probably want Miami.

That leaves us in a potential beauty contest with Ball State for Toronto. If an at-large opportunity opens up, then every 7-plus win team in the MAC would go bowling.

If we beat Toledo, I expect volunteers to be passing out International Bowl brochures as we exit the stadium.

I doubt the International Bowl could even extend an invitation to us until the GMAC and Motor City bowls are assured of having the teams they want.

I think its a distinct possibility that the International Bowl people were there hoping to see Buffalo. I'm betting that they'd like to get UB in that game given their proximity to Canada.

Glad we could change their plans though :)

Bit of a rush job, I heard, but I understand the Jambulance will, as ever, be pulling the crowds on Friday! Colour coordinated, of course.
