CFN still says no bowl for BG

Yeah, I know, it's just one site and many people don't like CFN either. But it's still really looking like one of the MAC bowls will come down to either BG or Ball State. Obviously, we need to beat Toledo, but it would be really nice if NIU could knock off BSU as well.

If Ball St wins and they an average home attendance that beats ours for the year then they will get any bowl bid over us plain and simple. Our lack of anyone on the team with seriously gaudy numbers probably doesn't help either. Plain and simple we will not go bowling if we do not handily beat UT with a sell out crowd.

I've got my ticket although I may not be able to go because of work. Hopefully it's paid attendance counted.

It goes without saying given the source, but this statement is retarded.

Bowl selection committees factor in how a school traveled for their last bowl over their individual home attendence by about a 1,000 to 1 margin.
We bought a lot of tickets and traveled extremely well for both the Motor City and GMAC bowls. Ball State hasn't been to a bowl since 1996, so there's no recent evidence whatsoever regarding how they'd travel.
Even if we lost to UT, we'd still both be 7-5 and their biggest trump card is almost beating the worst Nebraska team in 60 years.

I still think, once we beat Toledo an 8-4 record is picked over a 7-5 record of BSU.

That would be awesome if we had a chance at going to the Motor City Bowl, which last I checked we don't unless we win the Mac Championship. I don't remember our GMAC Bowl attendance being something to write home about though. I'll believe we have a bowl bid when we beat UT and have an official invite from a bowl committee.

I've got my season tickets. My parents & brother will be there as well. One of my buddies (EMU grad) is planning on coming as well, AFAIK. Working on his wife & one of her friends as well.
I'm trying to do my part to bring in more people than usual

I asked a couple of my other friends too, although one of them is a UT grad.

Ball State can't draw pictures. And with their off the field troubles in the forefront much of the Fall they may not be as desirable as they would be otherwise. On the flip side, Nate Davis appears to be the real deal and Dante Love is a big time receiver. Can't see them beating anybody away from Lazy Muncie, though.

If I had the dough I'd be there, but the start time is terrible for me as I will likely be busy that early in the day. Whoever decided on a 2:30pm start time on a WEEK DAY is clearly a few slices short of loaf.

Sportsline has us in the Int'l Bowl playing UConn. Miami and CMU get the other 2 invites.

it's the day after Thanksgiving. You need to find a better job if you don't have that day off....

Most of us all consider it a weekend, but anyone working in retail considers that the busiest day of the year, don't forget.

I work at the Showcase theater in Maumee, where it is also generally our busiest day, but my fellow popcorn popping and ticket tearing falcons and I requested off - See you at the game!
Side question - I don't know if this has been addressed elsewhere that I've missed, as school's had me too busy to check the boards as often as I used to - but if we do go to the International Bowl, will one need a passport to attend?
