Chicago Area Alums/Fans?

Post by 98_BG_GRAD »

I am going to be in Chicago (Naperville/Aurora) area for Thanksgiving. Anyone out there that lives in that area know of a good spot to watch the game on Friday? I know of some sports bar type establishments, but I thought I would see if anyone had any good ideas of a place that would be likely to put the BG game on.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, on Thanksgiving, I'll be just north of you at my Parents' place in Hanover Park, but I'm heading to BG for the game.

There are any number of bars in that area, and Naperville is quite the town if you haven't been there before. Your two best bets are to go down IL Rt. 59, or to the Downtown area off of Washington St. and south of the BNSF tracks. There are quite a few bars in Downtown Naperville, along with everything else known to man. Although it'll be cold, a trip to "Cookie Dough Creations" in Downtown might be good for a unique dessert.

If you're feeling like a bit of a drive (10-15 miles east), I'm a fan of Ballydoyles in Downers Grove. It's an Irish Pub with a pretty decent beer selection, and a good atmosphere. In addition, Fox & Hound in Carol Stream/Bloomingdale is a good place to watch a game too. I don't know (website isn't coming up) where the nearest BW3's is, but I know that they've got one in downtown Elmhurst (10 miles east), although I'm sure that there's one in Naperville/Aurora by now.

I hope this helps, Jeff
