And now, we wait to see if a bowl comes a calling

Just a great win today and a great way to finish out the regular season! After the loss to Ohio, we were 4-4 and things looked bleak. But we ended up winning out and capped it off with a win over Toledo to put us at 8-4. We're done everything we can do from our standpoint, now we just have to wait and see if we're going to be picked for a bowl. It's basically down to four teams in the MAC (BG, CMU, MU, BSU) with the possibility of a fifth team (OU) in line for one of the three bowl bids (with a remote possibility of a fourth depending on whether or not the other conference tie-ins are filled) . But it’s going to be on pins and needles for me until we get an offer after the snubs we’ve had in men’s hoops in 1997, 2000 and 2002. I just hope a bid is extended to us and soon! GO BG!!!

It will be an absolute travesty if the team with the best overall record in its conference does not get a bowl invitation. I don't care that we're not in the conference championship game, it will be total BS if we get snubbed. I agree though, I'll be holding my breath until we get an offer.

All three bowls were represented at the game. The question is if Chryst will shop us for a fourth, but even the MCB is NOT out of the equation right now. We WILL be bowling, but w3ho knows where!

It'd be nice to see NIU pull off an upset over BSU. It would help make us look that more attractive to Bowl reps.

I think the MCB is out with the win by Central today. If Miami loses their next 2 games we'll be in Mobile, if not it will be Toronto. If Miami wins tomorrow the International Bowl invite could be extended before the weekend is over.

If you want to see the MAC get a 4th bowl bid these are the teams to pull for in tomorrow's games:
Fresno State over Kansas State
San Diego St. over TCU
Clemson over South Carolina
Auburn over Alabama

Akron had that game today against CMU. They completely choked in the 4th quater. That would have made the MCB a nice fit.
Good Game Falcons

It would be a major shame if we didn't get a bowl bid. We've done all we can do at this point in time. Now, it's up to the bowl committees, which is why I am nervous. I know basketball has nothing to do with football, but putting our fate now into the hands of these committees just makes me nervous. I certainly like where we stand (though I wish we could replay the Ohio and Miami games over again), but being we aren’t a division champion and we still could use some help to bolster our resume, I won’t rest assured about a bowl bid until we have one in hand (crossing my fingers).

Perhaps it will be a return to the home of the original Mardi Gras- Mobile. Nine win UCF vs eight win BG might be quite a match for the GMAC.
CMU and MSU sell out Ford Field? Miami wins tomorrow and perhaps faces Rutgers in Toronto? If Miami can win tomorrow, the three MAC bowls might move at that point- particularly to get the early MCB event moving in terms of marketing and tickets.
If Miami loses tomorrow, all might be held to see if Miami has a losing record post league title game. Then Ball State steps in.
Our bags will be packed for somewhere. Count on it at 8-4.
Go Falcons!

Just remember, the GMAC gets first pick of MAC bowl eligible teams. I could see them taking CMU. Then, BG would definitely go to the Motor City Bowl and Miami will need to get their hands on some passports to head to Toronto. That is my prediction and I stand by it.

The Motor City Bowl would LOVE to have Central Michigan. Would boost their attendance greatly. What about vs. Sparty?
I will go anywhere!
