BG actually ends in a three-way tie for first in the MAC East with Miami and Buffalo. What's more, BG actually finished with a better overall MAC record than both Miami & Buffalo but Miami won the tie-breaker because of beating BG & UB head-to-head. Miami also played one less MAC game than the rest of the East (Miami only played against one MAC West opponent).

MAC EAST: DIVISION/MAC/OVERALL
BOWLING GREEN 4-2, 6-2, 8-4
Miami 4-2, 5-2, 6-6
Buffalo 4-2, 5-3, 5-7
Ohio 3-3, 4-4, 6-6
Temple 3-3, 4-4, 4-8
Akron 2-4, 3-5, 4-8
Kent State 1-5, 1-7, 3-9

MAC WEST: DIVISION/MAC/OVERALL
Central Michigan 4-1, 6-1, 7-5
Ball State 4-1, 5-2, 7-5
Eastern Michigan 3-2, 3-4, 4-8
Western Michigan 2-3, 3-4, 5-7
Toledo 2-3, 3-5, 5-7
Northern Illinois 0-5, 1-6, 2-10

Does BG get to tout themselves as co-champs of the east division?

I remember from old programs and media guides that BG had finished 1st or 2nd in like 32 of 50 seasons. Would this count towards that?

BG finished tied for 1st in 2005 as well.
