BG actually ends in a three-way tie for first in the MAC East with Miami and Buffalo. What's more, BG actually finished with a better overall MAC record than both Miami & Buffalo but Miami won the tie-breaker because of beating BG & UB head-to-head. Miami also played one less MAC game than the rest of the East (Miami only played against one MAC West opponent).
