Where would my money be better spent? I don't know which would be dollars better spent, donate a couple seats to a charity or donate to the FMB. Any thoughts

As an alum of the FMB, I would say that donating to the FMB is a great idea, but I would suggest you donate one of the two charities on the front page of http://www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com/

http://www.nationalmssociety.org/
http://www.jimmyv.org/

It combines supporting the site and BG fans and supporting very important charities.

Those are 2 wonderful charities, but I'm not sure they would have a use for GMAC Bowl tickets? I'd suggest donating them the band or local charities. Here are a few in Mobile:

St. Mary's Home

University of South Alabama Women and Children's Hospital
http://www.usouthal.edu/usacwh/

Ronald McDonald House

Oak, I think the point of your question is since you are not going to the game, which of the options presented by BG is most advantageous?

I would think that it would basically be a wash. The University has to pony up for the ticket allottment and to take the band on the trip. If you donate for the tickets, then that is less tickets they have to buy. Conversely, if you donate to the FMB trip, then they need to buy the tickets.

Just write 'em a check. They'll be happy to cash it.

Yea, I can't believe azzer's can't figure out what I mean when I leave out critical information in a post  . I wasn't sure if the coffers were different for the FMB or seating and if they needed more money in one place than another. Thank's for the other ideas, but for now I am interested in supporting BGSU for this bowl game. I will probably purchase seats so a charity down south can put some butts in them for me.

Just to add to that, the FMB is flying down to Mobile this year instead of taking busses like we did in '04. So any amount of money donated to the FMB would be greatly appreciated!! (I'm speaking from a student standpoint and therefore am not speaking for those in charge of finances for the FMB)

Well, somebody will have 2 nice sideline seats for the game in 'Bama. The BG ticket office seemed a little surprised when I showed up and asked for tickets to be donated. If anybody can't make the game I would recommend that they make any donation to the FMB expense or ticket donations. Just my .02
