A buddy of mine and I were arguing which team was better...the '03 BG Football Team or the '04 BG Football team. Why? Becasue there is NOTHING going on in sports and I can't hear any more about the Mitchell investigation.

I think the '03 team was far better and my buddy disagreed.

Anyway, I went on whatifsports.com and put in both teams. '04 was home and '03 was away. The '04 team won 4 out of 5 games. Shocking but interesting.

Pretty cool way to spend an hour or so putting BG against all other Div. 1 teams. If you want the best results, but in the '04 team at home. The best team I saw we beat on this website was the '07 Florida Gators. :P

I can't believe the '04 team was better!!!!

The 2003 team was defn better. Sure is fun to think about though. I agree with you about the Mitchell report. I was already burned out on baseball, now I just feel like vomiting. GIVE ME FOOTBALL!

I simulated us vs. Tulsa 3 times and we won each time...

All things point to a GMAC bowl championship to me.

Well then I did 2003 BG vs 2003 Purdue and it came out 47-0 Purdue. This thing is not as cool as I orginally had hoped!

Thanks to whoever started this thread, I will get no sleep tonight....great..

BTW, OSU's chances in the natinonal championship look good, and im pretty sure the '85 Bears would take it to the '72 Dolphins :)

Tricky, before I had read your post i did the same thing and got

2004 BGSU 30
2007 OSU 19

I'd like to think that would actually happen too. The stats seem pretty accurate I'd have to say.

None the less, I still agree that our '03 team was better than our '04 team.

I'd take our 03 team over the 04...but not by much. I think the 03 team was a bit better.

Our 2004 team may have had better talent, but our 2003 team was clearly the better T-E-A-M to me. Those kids were winners, especially J5.

It comes down to this:

Harris > Omar

Both were incredible but Josh had "it"

J5 defn had "it" aka leadership & clutchness, but Omar is the most accurate QB that I've ever been luckily enough to see play.

simulations can't take "it" into account. To a machine, the '04 team would look much better.

I'll take '03.

how about '05 with a healthy Omar? hmmm... but I still say '03 with Harris

That '05 team was disappointing and dreary well before Omar got hurt.

The only time all year that they looked like the team we expected was the first half of the Wisconsin game. After that they played well below their talent level even before Omar got hurt.
