Welll.....CRAP...with Davis out we're already a bit thin at DT so losing Young is gonna hurt our depth there and Stanley was playing oh so very well in place of Haneline.

Wonder if these are the two academic casualities.

I'm an optimist, but things are not shaping up well for our defense.

I think we'll be alright. There is a lot of leadership and character on this team, which should make it easier for the reserve players to step up. I'm excited for the game, it can't get here soon enough.

Roll along you BG warrior...

I will be shocked if Tulsa doesn't put up 50. Our defense was definitely improving, but losing three key players when going up against the #1 offense in college football is not a good thing.

Ouch. No reason was given for either Stanley or Young. They might as well tell us; other schools certainly do.

The front 7 is thinner than Nicole Richie's arm. The still-intact secondary will have to be at the top of their game to slow them down and try and create turnovers.

In past situations like this, Brandon has gone to the run more to keep the defense off the field and the result is usually stalled drives. He should just worry about scoring points in whatever way they can come, period.

Our D has to play well for 4 quarters...that's it. Losing Briggs is BiG and Stanley makes this task even harder. DJ Young...I don't think his mind is in the right place yet. I thought he would be a dominant player by now but it hasn't happened.

Our backups must be ready...and I think they will be. Coach Ward has started to mold this D over the year and they're coming together. Sanderson went down and Mahone promptly took his place and earned All MAC. Cody Basler and Aaron Davis have gotten reps in games...they aren't green. Adrian Baker can cause problems filling in for Briggs and Magnone is quickly becoming a bulldog on the field.

I think we can run the ball and help the D out...Tulsa's D isn't exactly a brick wall. This could very well come down to who has the ball last. BG will move the ball and score points as well.

In 48 hours I'll be landing in Pensacola and on my way to Mobile....hope it will be warmer than there today. Damn, I am psyched up...9-4 sounds GREAT to me. I keep singing "Mobile, Alabama" instead of "Sweet Home, Alabama". :-D

GO BOWLING FREAKIN' GREEN!!!!!!!

Man, more disappointing news here, not good at all. Well, if we have to face the fact of not having these guys, I guess all we can do is hope that Davis and Young are the two academic casualties that were previously mentioned and that the growing list of players we will be without stops here. Our defense has certainly taken a hit before the game has ever gotten off the ground and that’s not good considering the offense we’ll be going up against.
