The Defense will surprise you

Post by zeket10 »

I have this really odd fealing that the defense will really surprise us by playing a good game against a pretty good offense. The defense has been playing pretty well of late. I know some of you are thinking that this is Tulsa a better offense, but I think that Tulsa is relying on timing and they will be a little rusty going into the game. So don't dobt the D going into this game. Oh yeah you know I can't finish a post without talking about my boi AT, and he is going to ball it up.

I hope you were drunk when you wrote that! Either that, or you received your degree from TU!? I wish they had spell checker on message boards!

Oh, and things are going WELL in Mobile! Looking forward to more fun (and a WIN) tomorrow!

I really hope that spelling doesn't dictate the outcome of this game. If our defen"c"e shows up, it's gonna be a long night. However, if our defen"s"e decides to play, then we may make it interesting.
Go Falcons!! Let's just get it done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, is the original poster related to Macman?
(If it's a kid of less than a 1st grade level that posted this, then I can let the spelling slide. However, other than that, all I can attribute it to is heavy drinking :P . Which is encouraged at BG!!!

You know what's going to determine the outcome of this game?

Turnover margin and special teams. If Vrvillo can hit FG's and PAT's, and we can steal one or two balls away from Tulsa, then we win.

If Vrvillo's is kicking FG's, we are in trouble. We need to be scoring TDs, not FGs

Perhaps Zom would like to weigh in on the spelling issue. When he writes "colour" no one complains. Well, I do , but silently. So why gripe about spelling a word the way it was originally spelled when the language was created? And I would think those who graduated from TU would agree, although I'm not that familiar with Temple's academic side.

Firefox has a spell check available which works in these forums.

Thank you, h20ville, and mindful of Flipper's preference for prosaic as opposed to exquisite use of English in the football forum, I will. Consider our erstwhile practitioner of English, one Geoffrey Chaucer:

"Ther n' is no werkman whatever he be,
That may both werken wel and hastily.
This wol be done at leisure parfitly."

Indeed. What is all that about? It is good English. It is Chaucer's English, and (just) understandable. Even if the spelling is a bit of a struggle for us, we still understand that he who doesn't rush his post, posts perfectly. What vision that chap had.

Once, English was easy. Spelling and meaning was governed by the Oxford English Dictionary. That guardianship is shared with Webster's Dictionary, now. The Australians don't know which one to use, and do you know, neither Chaucer nor Shakespeare would probably care, because more than anything else, they loved to communicate just like we do in our forum.

Nevertheless, one has opinions about use of English, and I think that if the Germans I know have a better grasp of either dictionary than many British people I know, why can't we do a better job ourselves?

Freut mich. Wie geht's? Ich lerne Deutch. Ich bin Internet Ingenieur. Und Sie? Was sind Sie von Beruf?

The defense actually played pretty well given they were put in a huge hole courtesy of the offense.

Giving up 7 TDs in 7 red zone chances has been disappointing; however, I think the defense has played fairly well. Smith is only completing about 55% of his passes and Mahone and Lewis were in position to make a couple big defensive plays. Not much they could do with what the offense gave them tonight.

Are you serious? If they were playing well, they would have stopped them sometime. I don't care that the offense turned the ball over. The defense still has a job too do whether the opponent gets the ball the their own 5 or our 20. And they never did. Seven F'in touchdowns is seven F'in touchdowns. The defense has sucked.

A defense can only be so good with so little rest.
