We have to go through our own little version of Kubler-Ross.

Denial: We’re going to stop giving away the ball and committing penalties right NOW. Rats.
Anger: Fire everyone! Withhold money! Find Paul Krebs and force him to watch the next A&E marathon of Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Bargaining: OK Tulsa, beat us if you must, but not bad enough to warrant a snarky comment from Steve Berthuiame on SportsCenter.
Depression: It’s hopeless. Just abandon ship and only return when Josh Harris’s son is an upperclassman.
Acceptance: That game was an unmitigated disaster, but the eight wins that came before it were pretty nice.

I don't know, there many different reasons why people want to fire Brandon. Some want him fired for being a bad coach, others, because he is the antichrist. So more than one thread works.

As for the 8 wins, half of them were as painful to watch as the losses. I'll give him credit for beating UT though, finally. Maybe he needs a bigger computer hard drive, to store more than one good game plan per season.

I'm struggling to not have a Romneyesque flip flop. Prior to last night I was well behind an extension, now I'm not so sure.

The loss to Miami, OU, and Tulsa have been very hard to stomach. Although I disagree slightly with the 8 wins being painful to watch. For me it comes down to risk management. With Brandon, you are just about a lock for 7 or 8 wins. I'd hate to risk giving the job to someone else, only to see a set back on those numbers.

I sent an e-mail last night to GC just curious to see if the game last night would have any impact on his possible extension, and GC basically hammered home the fact that we were 8-4 during the season and that we beat Toledo. I don't think last night is going to hold much water when it comes to the contract talks

My personal opinion, I think GB needs to sweat out a season and prove that he wants to stay here. However, from a business, recruiting and team morale standpoint, I think he deserves a one or two year extension, only because we cannot have the uncertainty at the head coach position heading into a very important season.

He should get a two year extension and a good pay raise. Everyone (coaches/U of M) do have a bad game ever now and then. He does have the best interest for his players (get a degree, stay out of trouble etc etc) all the time and he works hard for the university. He has a young team that did go 8-4 and what looks like a good recruiting class coming in. A lot of D-1 university has done worse this past season. Now is the time to back the team, coaches and everyone associated with it. I look forward to next season!!
