Yeah...thanks for the info RF...

Rivals has him as a ** guy with an offer from EMU. HE does not appear on the Detroit News list of the top 60 in Michigan. Mick McCabe should have his list out soon in the Free Press. Mick has been covering prep sports up here since I was in high school, so I tend to view him as being a bit more credible.

At 6-2 and 256, I think he's going to be one of those guys that they try to hang 15-20lbs on so he can play inside.

He has offers from BGSU, Indiana State, and North Dakota State. He is also hearing more recently from Louisville and thinks he might be getting an offer from them.

The information on offers from UT, EMU, and Colorado is incorrect and outdated.

Wondered how long it would be before we heard about any recruiting news...we're getting close to the witching hour i.e. signing day and haven't heard much of anything, especially since the bowl game...anyone know what the situation is for the OL from Indiana is? Be pretty nice if he'd joing the other four guys to make a complete OL.

Here's some speculation that Shafer is leaning towards Western MI.

Rivals actually had Schaefer as a WMU verbal for awhile on Sunday before they changed it to interest "high" for WMU but no committment.

I couldnt keep quiet...

Blaine is still 100% undecided.

The rivals.com person tagged his bio in error. He corrected the error as soon as I informed him of the problem. The "high" interest tag for WMU, as well as his thoughts on where I (Blaine's father) lean are strictly coming from the rivals guy. Please put no weight into any of this stuff.

Coach Brandon and Coach Ward are scheduled to be in our home tomorrow night for a visit. The following night Coach Cubit and Coach Stanley from WMU will be visiting Blaine. Then...if schedules work-out, we will travel to BSU for an offical visit this weekend.

I hope this clears up some misunderstandings.

Thanks for the inside scoop bsman!

Recruiting info is always so rumor heavy that it's tough to believe most of what you read...it's nice to have a legit source here telling us how it is :)

I hope the visit with the BG coaches goes well, and good luck choosing the right school for Blaine. Hopefully that school will end up being BG, but if not, I hope he makes the right decision for himself, and we'll wish him luck where ever he ends up.

Well best of luck to him in the decision making. I know it's a very exciting time for your son. Of course we'd like to see him become a falcon, just remember that he can't go wrong with any of those schools. But of course i'm very partial to BG. I hope the coaches visit tomorrow goes well. I know for a fact that Coach Ward is a great person to talk with.

Best of luck.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but here's an article I really like by Terry Bowden from last year about recruiting being sometimes a dirty business with a little story about stealing a recruit.

Always good for a laugh.
