7 int's and 6 blocked kicks. Good to add a playmaker on D and special teams. Welcome!

WOW...Why not welcome him to the team BEFORE you criticize him.

I'm not criticizing him. How do you criticize someone for their size? "You should have ate more junk food so you could play linebacker"? Size is what it is. If he can play, great. Just saying that a player that size has some obstacles to overcome when facing bigger, stronger WRs.

Good luck to you , Marquese!

All I'm going to say is that 40 time better be a real old one cuz if he's only running a 4.6 he won't be in the vicinity of any opposing wr to make a int or any play on the ball in Div.1 football. That is simply way to slow for a CB. His weight ain't problem really he can beef up but that speed is a bigger deal when your in the secondary.

Yeah, but Antonio Smith is 5'10" 180 ... a little time in the weight room, a few trips to Myles & Mr. Spots and, presto, bigger DB.

8)

The best CB we've had here the last 10-15 years or so (Jannsen Patton) ran a 4.6ish 40 on his pro day.

40 times are completely overrated in all of college football. The times you see posted are ludicrous and mean nothing.

They're especially overrated at the position of CB. The hips & ability to change direction are FAAARRRR more important than a 40 time on any CB. There have been plenty of outstanding CBs at the D1A level that didn't run fast 40s. That is especially true at the MAC level.

We don't get kids that run the alleged 4.2 40 times.

Hammb's right. 40 yard time is over-rated. (heck, when i was in high school, we ran the 40 for time...our coach had a stop watch and two cones. Pretty accurate). Ability to change direction and lateral movement is key. Plus he seems like a playmaker with 7 picks and 6 blocked kicks. Sounds like a good addition to the team.

I agree as well regarding the speed. This guy in high school flat out made plays defensively. He is defintiely around the football. I will take his football instinct over a forty time.

I thought Patton was a safety , oh whatever I just hope he's quick enough , fast enough or whatever to be able to play the position well.
