good luck getting it televised....you can fire some emails to the Detroit ABC station too....I don't want to get stuck with lame Big-10++ coverage :D

As far as I know the game is regional deal......ABC always has the one game on saturday that most of the country gets, then there are a few that are televised according to region instead to a small audience.....since we get the Toledo ABC in BG, I highly doubt the game not being on....but perhaps I'm wrong.

Well, as we have discussed before, the problem is that Michigan-Miami U. is also a regional telecast, so the conventional wisdom has been that UM would get the Great Lakes stations.

That's pretty much what I'm guessing at...Big 10 action seems to take precidence over everything.

Just a tip, and not that it will matter, but at least once game day hits, local stations have no say in what game hits the air. I don't know if there is a difference if they have a flood of emails before the game to contact ABC and say "we've got ALOT of people that want this game on in our market", but I doubt it. As for the email addresses listed earlier, I'd think that the programming one would be the route to go, if any. The sports address is likely to say "why am I getting so many emails from people that care about Bowling Green?" And even if they think the game should be on, chances are they won't take the initiative to call the network and see if they can get it changed. Unless there happens to be a BG grad working at that station *grin* Good luck, but I've got a pretty strong feeling most of the country east of the Mississippi is seeing Michigan that day.

The Michigan/Ohio/Indiana area will likely get the Michigan v. Miami matchup, and here's the meat and potatos reason why. This is a reply I got last year in reference to an email I sent in disgust to my ABC station after I got stuck with Purdue v. Illinois instead of the Oklahoma-Texas RRS game.
Hello Scott

Thank you for your recent email to Channel 7 regarding our Saturday college
football lineup. Along with our ABC football schedule, we have and ESPN
Plus Big 10 football contract which requires us to carry a certain number of
games throughout the season. It is our hope that those games will typically
involve Michigan or Michigan State.

We are contractually obligated to carry certain games. Please know that we
try very hard to select and broadcast the best games available. We tried
very hard to receive the 12noon match-up between Miami @ Florida State.
We're sorry that this was not the case for the match-up at 3:30 on October
11th.

Thank you again for your email we value your viewership.
They admit it's an outside possibility, but you guys should definitely start rapid firing the emails now while there are still a few weeks....For me it's a lost cause because Michigan is playing then, and they won't pull the plug on Michigan or Michigan State for anything.

Hope this helps you guys in getting it televised there.

An e-mail address for someone responsible for programming at WTVG in Toledo would be nice.

I couldn't find anything on the Web site.

only thing I could find for you guys is this

[email protected]

Suppossedly they'll get forwarded to the station, so make it clear in the subject line that you want the attention of the sports programming director, or the programming directors in general.

Hope it helps.

Scott:

If we are lucky and the game ends up on WTVG ... you should only need to drive as far as a Downriver sports bar to watch the game. The signals come in pretty easily over the air down there.

Maybe we should contact the Blade - maybe their sports dept will look into it. I've emailed both Toledo and Cleveland TV stations over a week ago and no reply.

Or maybe Krebs can look into it for us? Does anyone know anyone in the athletic office?
