PITTSBURGH ATTENDANCE

Post by SB-50 »

BG Should "represent" Aug 30 at Heinz Field (capacity 65k). Tickets shouldn't be a problem. Ticket availability will not be an excuse to not show up. Pitt's attendance from 2007:

EMU - 36,183
GRAMBLING - 30,852
UCONN - 40,145
NAVY - 30,103
CINCY - 33,423
SYRACUSE - 31,374
SO FLORIDA - 57, 704

My quality BG education tells me that's 37,112 per game. Falcon Nation will (better) be strong on Aug 30. The game has been announced on Pitt's website:

There will be no problem with tickets. I know a lot of you are Steeler fans  , there are very nice displays on the East side of the stadium showing the history of the team.

I have never seen a college game at Heinz, but I would think they sell alcohol. There is also a Quaker Steak and Primanti Bros on site.

That's gonna be a tough game for us. Pitt looked pretty sick on D against WVU and MSU. Those are the only 2 games that I watched them play off the top of my head. I still wish I could go though!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

You'd probably be interested to know that, yes, there was *just* enough soap and hot water in Muncie after I shook your hand Wednesday....

NOON KICKOFF????

Post by SB-50 »

The Pirates are playing the Brewers at 7:05pm Sat, Aug 30. I doubt both games would be scheduled simultaneously. My guess is a noon kick-off.

My daughter, a Pitt grad, lives less than 2 miles from the stadium. I'll probably go out to visit her and we'll all go to the game.

FYI, The University runs free shuttle buses from the campus to the entrance of the Roberto Clemente bridge which you then walk over to the stadiums. After the game the buses are waiting at the stadium to take you back to campus.

Do your part to make this feel like a home game for the Falcons.

What does everyone think of a 3:30p.m. start time?

Does Pitt control the start time of the BG games since the Pirates are playing Saturday evening?

3:30 would be perfect. We could still leave BG Saturday EARLY morning (start tailgating around noon) rather than finding a place to stay Friday night. For students, hotels are expensive :?

I hope to God they control it. A 3:30 start would be awesome.

+1. We could leave Akron at 9am and be there by 11. That would work very well. :D

ONLY 172 days to go!!!

They don't.

The Pirates require that the parking lots are clear 2 hours before their scheduled game time. Since their game is at 7:30, the lots must be clear by 5:30, meaning the game would have to start at noon.

Unless Pitt and the Pirates come to an agreement to move the Pirates game earlier in the day, it'll be a noon start. It definitely won't be at 3:30, either way. There's no way to fit a 3:30 game in, whether the Pirates game is at noon or 7:30. If they moved the Pirates game (doubtful), it would be a 7-7:30 start.
