I realize that highlight reels are supposed to make guys look good, but just wondered who on the recruiting class video do you feel looked the best?
My choice would be QB Aaron Pankratz from Nordonia HS. I like his size and he showed a big, accurate arm on the tape hitting guys in stride on the deep ball and running the short passing routes that looked a lot like our offense. He also has the ability to use his legs as well.
My second choice was Keith Morgan from Bellefontaine. I know we recruited him as an athlete with intentions of making him a safety, but his ability to make people miss and his speed make him a natural as WR.
I also thought Marc Stevens and Blaec Walker were impressive run blocking and pass protecting.

I liked the OL recruits...those are some very mobile 300lb's. Gotta love Marc Stevens..on the tape he introduced himself as "Falcon for life, Marc Stevens".
The QBs looked good...I was looking forward to seeing some film on Pankratz as I had heard a lot about him. He's a good one. Very fluid, nice arm stength with a quick release. Effortless motion...guys like that wierd me out...it looks like they're softly tossing the ball and it goes 20 yards on a line .
The DB's looked good too. Quiles is a kick blocking machine...he was beating blockers because he's able to react to the snap before the blocker can react to him...you can make some coin with reflexes like that.
Overalll...I really liked the way the DB's played. None of them look like the kind of kids that want to lay back and watch the play develop. They all break hard to the ball, they all look willing to get in there on run support.
Best of all, they look like they know how to wrap up and tackle.
Morgan looked good too...I could definitley get behind him playing RB. But...it sounds like he may eventually play LB. The kid is already up to 202lbs. In a year he'll be closer to 215lbs....that's LB size in the MAC.
Per GB...the freshman DB's could all see special teams action as they're fast. It sounds like Winston Etheridge will see some action at DT. He's in that 255 range right now...the thinking is he'll be closer to 275 by fall.
All in all...it looks like a pretty solid group.. We needed some OL guys to replace the graduation losses and we got them. We restocked the secondary and it looks like we got a quality QB to push the incumbent and a very talented freshman to grow into the system.
Oh..I almost forgot. Brandon introduced Stevens as "the favorite of the internet" or something like that. It was all in good fun...believe me.
No mention of Norman Young...I didn't even notice that until I read some of the posts on the baord

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Heck of a recap, Flipper. Thanks! Marc Stevens is now my fave lineman since Kory L is done at BG. Love that kid..."Falcon for life". Can't go wrong with that attitude.

That is sweet to hear.

My vote has to go to the Cali QB Andrew Beam. The highlight tape they showed was shortened version from the San Quan Delta website. Although Pankrantz looked very good as well, Beam just stood out with his throws deep and how accurate they were, not to mention his scrambling ability which fits our offense to a T.
