I am surprised to see Miami stands quite so head and shoulders above the the rest of the MAC pack. Seeing Bowling Green at third probably makes sense. Success brings privilege and enmity in equal measure, and the sum total of of such resentment is well within expectations.

I think in Miami's case envy rears its ugly head. The perception of Miami students thinking they are a little better than the rest of us has helped them but I am pledging to be even more offensive than ever in my fandom in the upcoming year. I cannot allow UT fans to only rank second here.

Fair warning for those of you coming to the GB next year- expect to see me at my invective spewing, name-calling, finger gesturing worst. I'll make Grant's friend from the BG hoops games look like the model of decorum. I WILL uphold the lack of honor of UT fans!

You permaturely exposed my hypothesis.

Looking down the list, you will see that there is a bias towards recent success of football programs. The big 10 is a fairly clear example of this.

Winning usually brings out the worst in fans from both ends of the spectrum.

There's also little qualification with it. Worst at what? Attendance? Treatment of visiting fans? It's an interesting poll. I wonder if the site if run by the everydayshouldbesaturday.com guys. Those gents (SEC fans) are excellent satirists.

I can't take a website seriously if they say "The University of Chicago" is in the big 10!

Technically, the U of Chicago IS in the Big Ten.... although the wikipedia entry says it's more of an affiliation....

What a stupid website. How do poeple even know Miami fans are the worst? They aren't ever even around to be judged.

My vote goes to WMU, second CMU.

I had an intern who [played tight end at Uof Chicago. He was about 6'0" and 210. Not sure he would have made it at a larger B10 school.

Ohio State is ahead in the Big 10 by almost 2,000 votes and only trails Georgia overall among all Division I schools.

I'm surprised Duke (4th) hasn't ginned up more amimosity among the ACC faithful.

Wouldn't that be one of many definitions of a bad fan. :)
