"The event also unveiled the Preserving the Legacy mini-campaign to enhance Doyt Perry Stadium by displaying its history..."

Interesting... let your imaginations run wild, folks.

We need to bring back the MAC Champion years, 1959, and retired jerseys (what football players have been retired?). I also love Virginia Tech's use of signs for their bowl victories.

Now, if you're talking about aesthetics we need lots of concrete repair, new fencing/landscaping around the stadium, new premium seating, and a friggin Doyt Perry statue that sits right outside the player entrance to the field.

I like the Doyt Perry Statue idea. You could almost put two statues of Doyt, one at the east and one at the west entrance. I think it would be nice to have a "hall of fame" wall somewhere in the stadium as well.

I believe Paul Miles # 29 is the only retired number.

Doug wins a drink next time we're at Pat's in Mobile. :-D

Interesting news...I'd like to see the MAC title years listed and bowl appearances as well. The statue of Doyt goes without saying...I wonder what they have planned?

Good find, TG.

GO FALCONS! 177 days til kickoff....

That statue has been a long time coming.

I hope something dets done with landscaping around the stadium. I can't stand that fence much longer.

I'm fairly certain that I was among the first if not the first on this board to bring up the idea of a DLP statue (along with the return of the Victory Bell) about 6 years ago or so.... so obviously I'd love to see that happen.

I've thought how cool would it be if we were able to raise the funds here on AZZ.com or at least spearhead that effort to lead to a DLP statue?

Taking it a step further, given the history of this website and its intrinsic meaning of this site to Grant, perhaps raising AZZ.com funds for a Harold Anderson statue at the new Stroh Center would be more appropriate. A simple plaque on the back saying "made possible by funds raised by the members of www.ay-ziggy-zoomba.com" would be pretty cool.

Has anyone priced what these things cost? We keep talking about it, maybe we should create a paypal thingy and get it going!??

I think it should say Grant Cummings and the members of Ay-ziggy-zoomba.com.

2 things.

1. I have said many times that we should have a garden of honor with busts of some of the BG greats. Dave Wottle, the Hobey Baker winners, Orel, even Scott Hamilton as a distinguished guest, Antonio Daniels, Nate Thurmond, Butch Komives. It would make sense to put them in between the two buildings now that they will be close in proximity.

1a On game days we should have shuttles running from campus to the arena and stadium every 15 minutes 2 or 3 going at a time, even just the vans. People dont go now and wont go more when they have to drive.

2. I know that there has been some discussion about this in the past, but what if this site, and Grant advertised a little more. Just add a link on the bottom and we will all click on it everyday. I believe that each click makes money. That money could go directly to getting that statue.

Speaking of the new Stroh Center. Are they going to name the court after anyone?

Something about me hates that trend, but if the word "Anderson" doesn't appear anywhere on the floor, I'll be disappointed.

I have similar feelings about the "Dakich Urinal Row"...

I've opened up a discussion with Greg Christopher about funding something like this... I'll let you know what comes of it.
