18,000 plus? really? it looked like there would be a few more than that from what I saw on TV. What more does the team on the field have to do to get people out? I've always brushed off the attendance threads as being random bitching, but for a game like this to not even reach 20,000? TV or not, SOMETHING has to be done with the marketing of this team that involves more than Gregg Brandon writing letters to the paper. From what they said on TV the fans that were there with thunderstix in hand were loud, but with less than 2/3 capacity, it should have been so much moreso.

I can't be too much of a complainer myself because I was not there, but things really need to start getting better next year. Having an awesome team with little fan support can only last so long. Our attendence this season was pitiful. Pending tomorrow this marks the third straight season we have been ranked and it seems like it makes no difference.

I know what you mean about room to complain, I've only been to one game this year, but that's all been because of the work schedule. I spent today watching and just itching to be in the tailgate lot, then in the west stands watching BG roll up this win. I REALLY need to be monday-friday by the time the 2005 season rolls around!

Where were the Marshall fans? I expected to see a lot more of them than what showed up. No it doesn't make up for the lack of BG support but usually they bring in more.

From a band person's perspective, the Doyt looked a lot fuller than I've seen it all year this year. I have no clue what the final count was, but it looked like a lot to me. And I was in the Doyt.

BTW, this was a great game being my last regular home game to march in as a bandie in the Doyt! Go Falcons! Beat Toledo!

No way was there only 18k there, that place could not hold another 1012 thousand people. Not a chance.

My guesstimate on the attendance today would be somewhere between 20 and 22 thousand. I could be off, but I'd say it was several thousand more than 18,000.

On another note, it was disappointing to see so many students leave during the third quarter of an exciting game. We may have had the game pretty well in hand, but this was the most exciting and closest game at the Doyt in a while. I wonder what it takes to get them to stay for the whole thing. At least they were there for the majority of it.

It was definitely more full that this year's other games, maybe not SEMO.

Here's your problem...FOX must blackout the game in BG. This would simply drive students out of their beds and off the futons and get their asses out to the games. I personally know many people who laid on their couch and watched a game, because they wanted to see BG, just didn't want to leave their room.

Blackout the game...problem solved! Student section today was weak!

Here is something that really bothered me. I hung around BG after the game and got a bite to eat with my folks and after that hit a gas station on the way out of town. I was still decked out in all my game gear and was asked by three or four people if we won today. They actually sounded interested to know and excited when I told them the score, but what the heck!?!? Why the heck weren't they at the game if they really cared? Too cold my ass....the sun was shining nice the whole day.....just throw on a few layers and you're all set. Just disapointing....

Like everybody else, I thought there were more than 18K in attendance. It was a good crowd, though. It seemed like everybody was really into it while the outcome was still in doubt. The bottom line is that we must get more casual fans into the Doyt next year. I think the only way to do that is start out hot like we did last year. For us to get the non-diehards, we need to either win at Wisconsin or play them down to the wire. I'll be there at every game and I know everyone else on here will also, but the casual fans are only going to come if we get off to a good start.

Crowd was into the game at the start and through the mid third quarter. Good enthusiasm.

Student crowd was not as high as it could have been. Veteran's Day Thursday is no school; Friday therefore may become a vacation day (fewer classes, maybe some cancelled)- some students went home for weekend.

Students vastly prefer the 4 or 6 PM starts- always. Yes, I know- TV.

I better not read about how well the Herd travels- they absolutely had to win and brought the same number we had at Ohio University. They had a PGG crowd- Parents, Grandparents and Girl Friends. Plus about 300 others. Hardly the many many thousands I read about that travel to see the Herd. I wonder how many Herd fans will be in Houston for that Rice game or in Hattiesburg for that Southern Miss game? Hey, nobody's going- especially with a 6-5 team.

Nice group of recruits who seemed to have a great time.

Motor City Bowl people were very, very impressed with Bowling Green (obviously) and we certainly have a chance to return. Of course, we need to beat Toledo.
