What was Coach Brandon's "Quote of the Day" after today's game?

"It was a great offensive effort, thing is we could have scored more points. We kind of dinked around down there in the red zone."

"Eight wins in this league is really good. We just got to go get one more and got to get a little help from my buddy Genyk up there at Eastern (Michigan)."

"When one group of seniors leave, the next one needs to pick up the torch and keep going. We will say good bye, shed a tear, but hey that's the way great programs operate. The next group comes in, steps up and leads. And we keep winning."

You forgot one from when he was talking about the McGrady hit:

"I think that was just a good, old-fashion slobberknocker."

If by "slobberknocker", you mean "spear", then yes. I think Coach Brandon may change his mind a bit when he gets to watch some tape of that one.

I call that hit a "headhunter"....not a clean hit from my angle. Should have been a helmet to helmet call. Poor sports, pop up again!
Living in Virginia....so this is what elevation looks like =)

Not only was it a spear, but the little pansy hit CMac as he was pulling up and turning from the play.

I liked quote number three myself. This program has come so far since 2000

Rumor has it that one of the MCB reps said the Marshall player should have been immediately ejected from the game for that hit.

It looked like a perfectly clean hit to me.

Cheap shot? Yes, but still clean. I only saw the board replay, didn't see it on TV from multiple angles, but it looked clean to me.

When there is an INT thrown Offensive players have to be ready for those hits. Similar to the one that Sapp laid on Clifton a few years back. Cheap? Yes. Within the Rules? I think so.

He should have been more aware, but the more I watched the replay, the more it looked like he left his feet and led with the top of his helmet. The fact that the top of his helmet hit McGrady in the earhole, or at least around the head makes it that much more dangerous.

Whatever it was, I think we can all just be very relieved that he's all right, and still may play in the UT game, and most likely will be available for a possible bowl game. Leaving the field in an ambulance is no way to end your collegiate career. (Recovering a fumbled kick return inside the 15 is a much better way! )
