How will AT do at RB?

Post by MarkL »

So it sure looks like AT is going to play running back next year, but I've seen a few posters display concern at this. Just for a comparison between AT and another notable player in college football:

AT: 6' 2", 229 lbs
High school QB who ran as much as he threw
Very fast, strong, athletic, and adaptable.

Other player: 6' 2", 205 lbs
High school RB and QB
Extremely fast, strong, athletic, very adaptable

This other player went on to become one of the greatest RBs to ever play in his conference, set multiple records, and much of this was from his adaptability and ability to pass well and run as a QB in shotgun.

So who is this other player? Darren McFadden.

Now I'm not saying that AT is going to be like Darren McFadden, but there are a lot of similarities, notably in size and adaptability. Anyway, I could see AT excelling at RB, even if it is for only one year. Maybe we even may see some "Wild Hog" formations out of him - that sure worked well for Arkansas.

Interesting comparison. Just keep Mike Conley away from AT :-)
