Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Steele has been more accurate with his picks over the last 8 years than anybody else. He really does his homework on EVERY team in 1-A...or the Bowl division for you PC folks. I love this guy's work...he goes all out and it doesn't matter if your team is a BCS powerhouse or the last place team in the Sun Belt. Each school gets at least 2 pages of info. WELL worth the money.

Steele's site says it will be on newstands June 10~! http://www.philsteele.com/

I'll keep my eyes peeled for it. Heck I'm calling the # now getting it home delivered! Thanks for posting, 33!

I called and they are shipping this Monday, June 2nd. I should have it no later than next Wed.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!

Mike,
While I'd agree with you that Steele's mag is better than most, last year he picked Toledo and Kent to win their respective divisions if I recall correctly...so he's far from perfect in that aspect too. It's pretty darned hard to pick the MAC winners from season to season because the teams are very closely bunched as a general rule...and a few injuries to key people can make a big difference.

Yeah, last year Phil Steele was really good in a lot of aspects. For example, his pick for the Heisman was Booty, but among other top picks, likelies, and possibilities were McFadden, Tebow, Brennan, Dixon, and Daniel. He put Ohio St. as his #4 (I think) surprise team of the season, and that ended up being a pretty good call. Maybe the biggest thing he missed on in the whole NCAA, though, was Toledo. He put them to win the MAC and even as a team to watch in the BCS. He did, however, call for us to be one of the most improved teams in the country and have a bowl season, which was pretty accurate, and he also said that both Buffalo and Temple could be closer to good than anybody thought, so I would tend to agree with most of his picks in the MAC.

Yeah he did. Go back two years when he picked the East Division like this...

Tie for first...Ohio and Kent
Tie for third...BG and Akron
5th was Miami and Buffalo was 6th.

So what happened? OH won the division, Kent was 2nd, BG and Akron tied for third, Miami was 5th and Buffalo 6th. ;-)

But calling Steele far from perfect is a stretch, Dennis. He's pretty damn accurate and knows his stuff.

Sorry guys, not to hijack this thread, but this just showed up at the bottom of the page.

Let's throw in a dozen or so more Bowling Green Falcons references, just for good measure.
Don't want to see those Michig- er -Toledo colors around here. Much rather see the Bowling Green Falcons colors.
;-)

..Bowling Green.

That's where they get ya, though. The T----o ringtones can only be downloaded to phones obtained for free from a Middle Eastern man at a cell phone shop in Detroit. :-D
