Following last week's announcement of the 7:30 p.m. contest with Minnesota on September 6, the Bowling Green State University football program has announced kickoff time for their remaining four home contests for the 2008 season.

The Falcons will host Minnesota on Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the home opener. Other home kickoff times include Eastern Michigan (Oct. 4, 4 p.m.), Miami (Oct. 18, Noon), Kent State (Nov. 1, 2 p.m.) and Buffalo (Nov. 21, 6 p.m.)

Only in Bowling Green, do we wait til LATE November, when it is nice and cold and windy to have a night game to exacerbate the conditions!!!

Remind me again, why we put up lights? :(

It's just too bad we took out the natural turf and put in that fake stuff.

My thoughts exactly.

Have to compare this to tOSU's schedule and I bet our home game times do not overlap when they are playing.

Remember that Buffalo is a Friday game. I think the game days are set by the conference and then the times are set based on TV and then the AD's choice. It was either going to be a 6:00 or 7:00 kickoff. Either way, it is probably going to be pretty cold.

I am assuming that the Miami game will be the FSO game of the week, so I don't have a complaint there. Homecoming is at 4 and Minny is under the lights. The only one that really has me scratching my head is Kent State.

Eh...anymore, just tell me when to show up. I love the night games...don't mind 2-4 kickoffs...don't like noon kickoffs at all.

78 days...GO FOOTBALL.

Personally, I love the 4 p.m. kickoffs. Allows for an extended tailgating period. And the games end early enough that we can hang out for a while afterward!

But like Freak said, when they play, show up.

Personally, I like later as well. 7:30/8:00 is cool with me, but I'm a night person who doesn't like to get up early in the morning.

Anything before 4:00 really sucks though. Really Sucks.

Well, here is the OSU sked:

Sat. 8/30 Y'TOWN STATE TBA
September
Sat. 9/6 OHIO TBA
Sat. 9/13 at USC TBA
Sat. 9/20 TROY TBA
Sat. 9/27 MINNESOTA TBA
October
Sat. 10/4 at Wisconsin TBA
Sat. 10/11 PURDUE TBA
Sat. 10/18 at Mich. St. TBA
Sat. 10/25 PENN STATE TBA
November
Sat. 11/1 Bye
Sat. 11/8 at N'western TBA
Sat. 11/15 at Illinois TBA
Sat. 11/22 MICHIGAN TBA

Sept 6 -OSU hosts Ohio...shouldn't matter with BG hosting MN at 7:30. LOVE that kickoff time for MN! I would guess this would be a noon kick.

Oct 4 - Could be a conflict. BG hosts EMU at 4 and OSU travels to Madison to take on Wisky. I can see this game starting at 12 noon EST, 11 CST....hopefully it isn't a late afternoon/early evening kick. EMU never draws anywhere on the road and BG is no exception.

Oct 18 - BG hosts Miami at Noon. OSU will be at Michigan State. No time given yet. Miami will bring a good following and this has the potential to be a HUGE game in the MAC East. Usually a good crowd if not a cold weather game. Mid Oct can go either way.

Nov 1 - BG hosts Kent and OSU has a bye week. This is good cuz Kent usually doesn't bring anyone and I can't remember a great crowd ever for Kent. Usually in the 10-15,000 range....

Nov 21 BG hosts Buffalo...OSU hosts Michigan the next day. No conflict. 6 PM kick for BG/Buff.

It sucks we have to attempt to schedule around OSU's sked but it is what it is. I don't like the noon-2pm kicks but anything 4 or after is perfect.

BTW, the official site has the Boise State game (9/13) with an 8 pm EST kick, WY (9/27) is a 4 PM MST kick and NIU (10/25) has a 4 PM kick CST. Games with kickoffs TBA are Pitt, Akron, Ohio and TSUN. I hope that Akron game is at night. We can tailgate at the house and then head over to the last game BG will ever play in the Rubber Bowl. The tailgating scene at Akron sucks BiG time.

76 days, 15 hours, 56 minutes and 45 seconds til kickoff at Pitt.

BEAT PITT
