I'm going through some BGSU stuff and ran across an old pic of Jacobs throwing a pass and this past anger came across again. I don't know if any of you guys remember when Omar was being criticized for his release. I always loved the way he released the ball since it was so different than any other QB in the game. Not to mention his stats are going to be hard as hell to beat with the TD to int ratio. HE WAS ACCURATE! Was I just in Jacobs land, or did all of you feel the same about his eccentric style of tossing TD's!? I wish he'd stay one extra year after coming so close to beating OU (#1team at the time I might add). We could've been a powerhouse the next season if he'd stayed! Not to mention he would've up'd his stock for the NFL. I know it's old news, but good OLD BGSU news is always good in my eyes!

I feel your pain. To this day I am puzzled by the Steelers cutting him the day after he was the Pepsi Player of the Game, and the Chiefs signing him and then cutting him before training camp started.

Seems like he is just getting overlooked. Maybe somebody will notice that once Omar got his stride in Florence that they have been kicking the snot out of every team that they have played.

His relesase was like a shotput, and if he ever fixes it he will add a lot more zip to the ball. i never saw it as many said it was side arm, it was not , just short armed, 1/2 motion.
He went to the right team, but at the wrong time. If you remember Pitt had some troubles in various other key positions due to injury and you can only hold so many.
I admired Omar honest on the difficulty of learning the playbook. when you think he came here...a very small very very simple play book to one of the most complex, its not going to be easy. he took a crap in the media for it, even though he had put up some good numbers and several good drives. He was in the end a project and his timing with pit was off...it will take a need a good break for him to come back.

He was also a shotgun QB which hurt him. Had he stayed his senior year, he would have had a chance to get his name out there more and maybe refine his game a little more.

I've actually been reading up and following that team a bit. He still has a pretty decent TD/Int ratio (52/11) but nothing like he had here! I just looked at other stats and he's probably the teams best running back, too. Hell, he even has 2 tackles and a 20 yard fumble return for a TD.
