At times it seems as though we may or may not have a commitment from Rhett Magner, who seems to be projected at a DB, a huge need area for us.
While it would be nice to have another addition to the team from the Magner family, another prize can also be found in Palmer, Alaska at Colony HS.
Rhett's buddy, JUSTIN SCHWARTZBAUER, is a 6-5 WR and according to the high school's website www.colonyknights.com is considered the best athlete. The basketball site features this about Schwartzbauer "He will often be expected to guard the other teams’ best players using his quickness and his court sense." If you're guarding the opponent's best player, 99 times of 100 you're your team's best athlete.
The following is how the younger Magner is described "Rhett will be asked to lead at both ends of the floor this year. He has improved his shooting and he has already proven his defensive abilities. He will be asked to provide leadership as the team builds its identity" sounds a little familiar.
The more interesting part of the "background" info that I found is a comparison between the yard stick the basketball team uses and the one the football team used.
As a junior on the basketball team, Magner measured at 6-1. He does likewise as a senior on the football team. However, Schwartzbauer measured 6-1 as a junior on the basketball team and then 6-5 as a senior on the football team!

Another name getting love in the Dayton area, girlfriend's territory and I just visit, is Centerville RB Tommy Tamaska. At 5-11 200 lbs, he brings very good size to the table already. Theinsiders.com has him listed at 4.7, but several people in the area, with good football sense, have described him as a tank for state ranked Centerville.
The really fun part is we need running backs once Pope and Lane take off and theInsiders.com has NO OFFERS listed for this bruising back. He would make for a very interesting compliment to the Stover/Petey Hood combo. Providing of course that hammb and I get our wish and Dan Macon joins Pete Winovich at LB.

A few names for all of you recruiting guys out there
another guy from the dayton area is cameron campaeu. he goes to kettering fairmont. he can play LB or RB. he is probably 6', runs a reasonable 40, and can bench over 300lbs. plus he rushed for over 450 yards in one game!! yeah i said 450 yards. the kid is a junior now. he will be a monster as a senior. i have heard negative rumors about him in the classroom though. but you guys have to see this kid. he also had a 260 yard game as well. i just thought anyone who rushes for over 450 yards against a good team (Springfield South...where Crossely played) is worth adding.
