We actually have 2 commits it is reported both on rivals.com and on jj huddle a TE from Pickerington by the name of Alex Bayer who is 6'4 222 4.78

With two commits from SW Ohio schools, I'm curious as to which coach is recruiting the area. This part of the state has become rather dominant lately, taking some of the luster off the NE Ohio reputation for producing FB players. someone must be doing a great job of "selling" BG. Of course, none of these kids are definite until the 1st Tues. in Feb., so we'll see...
Noticed that OSWHO now has 23 commits for next year...another Glenville kid is most recent. I can't recall the Columbus "institution" getting that many kids this early. Wonder if something new is taking place in college recruiting to get this many kids to commit this early.

So let's just say "Southern section of Ohio" and split the difference. Thought it was in direction of Dayton,but, as you've pointed out, it's closer to Columbus.

Why the rolling eyes? I simply noted that Pickerington is not in SW Ohio. Most people would say that it is in Central Ohio, but if you want to say that it is in the "Southern section of Ohio" have at it.

Wow...a rolling eye Death Match!!!...I'm no sure I can handle the carnage.... but yeah, geography is right up there with sex and religion so far a touchy subjects go, so I shouldn't be suprised.

BTW...Rivals says Steele is the #10 CB in Ohio and bayer is the #3 TE. Since we don't really use TE's....I have no idea what that means for his future. I hope they both major in "engineering". Seeing how irritated UT fans get when they read that a BGSU signee will major in engineering is such a treat...

EDIT: BGSU is the finest institution in Kentucky.

in my tenure at bg, when i would meet people from the cinci/dayton area, they always had this confidence about them. then if you got them fired up they would def rep their area saying that they have the best football in ohio easily. and welllll if u look at the recent trend of state champs they have a pretty good arguement. schools like moehller, st xavier(state champ), colrein, anderson(state champ), elder, dayton chaminade, those sound more impressive to me then mentor, st. eds, st. igni, glenville, ect....

And of course don't forget to add in Kettering Alter. My little hometown public school's team is usually pretty strong and they always seem to get trashed by Alter when they meet them in the playoffs. Of course Alter is one of those private football factories that has about 3-4 full offensive lines and several good backs that they rotate during the game. Their playbook consists of off tackle left, off tackle right, and a few wishbone sweeps here and there. Slight exaggeration noted

Football in this area of the state has always been pretty good, but until recently it's always been over shadowed by the long time power houses in the NE.
