Incoming Freshmen Arrive on Campus

Post by falconfan1 »

Second session summer school will begin and the freshmen football recruits, as usual, arrived en masse for orientation, classes etc.

The big offensive linemen were pretty easy to pick out in line with other incoming students. Marc Stevens, coming off a dominating performance in the Ohio North-South game, looked to be in excellent condition and in high spirits. Big Chip Robinson- while still big- looks like he has definitely been working on the preseason conditioning program. Tim German and Blaec Walker were there likewise casting large shadows. Glenville DL Winston Etheridge was among the first to arrive.

Of the skill players, Jonathan Davis looked like he is arriving in outsrtanding shape as a RB/DB from Ravenna. Very personable young man. DeMark Jenkins is a tall rangy WR and is really excited about getting started. JC QB Andrew Beam is a big physical guy and, obviously, older and a more veteran college guy. Nordonia QB Aaron Pankratz, fresh off a fine performance in the North-South game, looks like he has added strength even since his official visit. His height lists at 6'6"- he's right there for sure.
ATL's Marquese Quiles came complete with Braves hat, big smile and proud parents. Many of the guys had a parent or two along.

CB Adrien Spencer, whose brother is a Dallas Cowboy, has that quick cover man look while S/ATH/KR Keith Morgan was first in line with his father from Bellefontaine. Keith played tough in the North-South game.

Kicker Jerry Phillips is pretty impressive physically from nearby Clyde HS. Probably the biggest surprise was Ohio's D III Defensive Player of the Year Tony Stover. This Akron Northwest LB looked like a work out machine and ready to hit somebody as soon as reasonable. Very strong looking guy. After some teams passed him by, I am sure glad he will be a Falcon.

Refreshingly, some of these guys admit to a little nervousness about this big opportunity and all the hard work and commitment college and college football will involve. Nothing wrong with that as just about everybody has a little of that feeling in the o-Reg line- athlete or not.

Go Falcons!

Awesome report! Thank you sir may I have another!

Gas is cheaper when the car is full. Bring two friends when you go to Pittburgh.

No doubt. Thanks for a very positive report, ff1. Seeing they're both excited and nervous is good. They know it doesn't matter what they did in HS now cuz it's a whole new game. But it sounds like they're bustin' at the seams to get going.

Less than 62 days til kickoff....2 months. Not much time left to wait...
