I think Warthog or someone else posted before about GBs tendency to ignore positions and then try to sign a bunch of guys at the position. We did it at OL and DB and now it looks like we will need to do it at RB and WR and LB. I would like to see a more balanced recruiting class but it seems to be working and I really think Brandon is very good at recruiting and fitting players into a position to make an impact.

OT: With that said I assume that we will see someone, Young or Minturn, Switch back to Defense with the defections of Barrow and Hardwick.

I totally agree about recruiting needs next year. I expect we're going to sign at least 3 WRs, 3 LBs, and 2 RBs next year. RBs may not be that big of an issue, though, because many of the DBs we got last year were very good HS running backs. Don't remember which ones off the top of my head, but at least two of them Brandon said at the signing event that the coach with first priority is DBs coach, but if the outlook there is pretty good, they go over to RBs coach.

Looks like we have already recruited 2 rbs (Mays and Thomas)for next year. A Bullock and a Geter. I completely agree with your analysis on rbs but also when it comes to wrs. Of our top group I think Barnes, Wright, Pronty and Wiley all started at different positions. That could be the thought. Lets try them at QB-RB-DB first and if they don't cut it WR will be the last resort?

The 3 JC players will not be RS they were brought here for a reason to be in the 2 deep

Yes, that would be me.

From what I have heard, don't bet on it.

But the WRs will end up being DBs, the LBs will be DEs and the RB will be safeties.

And they'll all end up being undersized. :P

If they are not starting that seems like a waste, especially with Beam and if Nate Brown is ok to play

It is generally not in good taste to redshirt JUCOs. They are usually used to jump right into your 2 deep. Starting or not, I'd be shocked if they were red shirted.

It's still not out of the question that Beam starts at some point this year, IMO.

I agree but Lorenzi is the only one who is coming into a position where we lack depth.

FWIW if all 3 Jucos play we will have 29 players who are juniors this year. More then the Soph and R-Fr class combined.
