According to SI's college football preview issue that arrived today Bowling Greeen is predicted to win the MAC, go 8-0, 10-2 overall.

Wow...I am very, very surprised by this prediction...2 total losses? I never in a million years thought SI, ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports or any sports outlet would pick BG to do anything even close to that this season...geeze...well boys, expectations stated...go meet them.

As Lee Corso says, "Somebody knows something I don't. I'm going with the somebodies (somebuddies?)."

Maybe our D will be better than we all think.

WOW.

When it comes to Falcon Football I've always been pretty optimistic, but 10-2 is really strong. We would have to run the table in conference to pull that off, winning in the glass bowl for the 1st time since 94, and defend the Doyt against Miami. Plus, we wouldn't be able to have any mistakes against teams like Akron, NIU, or Buffalo.

I bet we'd be ranked at season's end with 10-2.

That is interesting...I am usually very optimistic about Falcon Football and have us going 9-3, 7-1 MAC. 10-2 would be awesome but 8-0 MAC would be even better because, as bgsufalcon24 said, we've lost 6 straight in the Glass Bowl and 8 of the last 9 against MiAudi. I guess it's time to take care of some old demons this year.

And I expect our defense to be better...

One game at a time....Let's get after the Pitt Panthers and get rolling.

GO FALCONS!!

BTW, I have three other words...WIN THE MAC. :-D

Yes. Sounds a lot better than SI predicting 2-10. If I went to the chair with one last thought to relish, 10-2 and nationally ranked would do it for me.

I think a lot hinges on this first game against Pitt. If we can sneak out of there with a win, we might have a shot at going 3-1 OOC. Of course we have to pencil in a loss at Boise.

I think the Boise State game can be won but am not expecting it. They are too damn good on the smurf turf and have a huge home field advantage. I think they've lost TWO games there in the last decade...perhaps one of our friends from Boise can verify that. They just don't lose there and even though the Broncos have only 12 starters back, I believe that will be our toughest game of the year.

I will be extreeeeemely happy if we come out of OOC at 2-2.

At that point, adding an 8-0 conference record would basically make me s**t my pants with happiness.

I'm still pissed about no Boise State at the Doyt. What is the deal this time around? We lost our other home-and-home due to MAC scheduling conflicts. Is this game a one and done or did we get the shaft again?

Is that what you do in your pants when you're happy.

I guess I was thinking something else.

I think I will let Flipper handle this one...

As I've said before, I genuinely believe we can beat Boise, and if we do, it will be on the shoulders of Geter, Bullock, Turner, and Ransom. That defense is very good against the pass, and QBs seem to have problems making reads against DBs in blue playing on blue turf. If we can keep it on the ground, take pressure off of Sheehan, keep our offense on the field, and maybe come up with some good defensive stops, we can win this game.

And, I'll see it in person - they'd better win :D
