Has BG ranked #91 and behind CMU, Miami, Ball State, NIU, Toledo & WMU and has the Falcons going 5-7 this year....beating EMU, NIU, Kent State, Ohio and Buffalo. Their depth chart is very outdated as Hardwick is still listed and AT is at RB. They also have heavyweights like Duke and Syracuse ahead of BG.

How in the world can they pick Akron beating us. They do not do their research, and probably flip a coin to determine the MAC games.

The CFN magazine (part of the Pro Football Weekly) had BG labled as the MAC team "Most Likely to Disappoint." Some bulletin board material perhaps.

Notice that they picked LAST YEAR"S TEAM to win only FOUR GAMES...so maybe this prediction will prove to be a blessing in disguise. 8-)

Not to mention picking NIU to finish better than BG but BG beating NIU.

Its the same thing when the news is good...none of them care about D1 football. Unless its BCS the other division.

Although I hope and pray that BG can do better and I think CFN usually is clueless about MAC football... It is possible to see us having a disappointing year, but you would think that a win at Akron is a shoe in and then you can beat at least one rival.... so even if you think that we will lose all OOC games I cant see being an worse than 7-5 and if they are Brandon will be out of a job by the time he sits down to eat turkey...

Well, here's how I view this prediction.

1.CFN does NOT like Tyler Sheehan. They make it sound as if one horrible game against Tulsa has killed his confidence and that he's locked in a tough position battle with Beam (which isn't true). They even say that our offense is good, but we just need a leader, an obvious dig at #13. I don't see where this harsh analysis is warranted.

2.CFN must really hate the MAC. They picked us to go sub-.500, yet still be in the hunt for the East Division Championship. That must mean that they aren't high on any of the teams in our conference. If we're 5-7, we're not going anywhere near the MAC Championship Game, unless if our 5 wins are against the other 5 east division teams. Even then I don't think it could happen.

Really, with them not expecting us to beat Minnesota or Wyoming, it seems that they just gave 4 OOC losses to every team in the MAC. That could be why they expect a 5-7 mark. Personally, I don't see any way we lose to Minny at home, unless we 100% completely suck the whole game.

"but the line will be mediocre with three starters needing to be replaced from last season's disappointing front wall." CFN.com I did not think the line played that bad last year. Tulsa was bad, but most of that was turnovers and poor D. I did not see the Miami game to judge, but the games I did see they held their own pretty good. If anyone has stats to prove me wrong please let me know. Im curious to see how well this website does its homework.

Come on. You really think we're a shoe-in to beat Minnesota at home? We don't have to completely suck 100% either. We could play a great game and still lose. The Doyt ain't exactly Beaver Stadium. I wouldn't be surprised to see more Minny fans at the game than BG fans. Does anyone remember '94? CMU maybe didn't have more fans at BG that day, but they sure as hell made a lot more noise and it seemed like they owned our stadium. Sorry, a lot of us don't wanna hear it, but it's true. My whole time at BG, I was always disappointed in the support our teams had. Based on what I've seen/read/heard, things haven't really changed. It is what it is. BG lacks in school spirit (I've never figured out why, but it sucks). I'm going to the Minny game. Have I bought a ticket yet? Nope. Do I plan on it? Nope. I'm gonna roll up to campus very early Saturday and find a ticket....probably at the ticket counter outside the Doyt. I truly hope the game is sold out and I have to beg for a ticket, but based on past experience, I don't think it'll be a problem to get a ticket for this one.

Wow, I really kind of drifted off the initial topic. Sorry. As far as CFN's prediction? Who f-in cares? Let's put the ball on the tee and see how everything plays out.

GO BG!!! (anyone have an extra ticket for the Minny game  )

This is the type of response I'd expect from an Ohio transplant living in Cali. You're worse than Urban Meyer, probably Dan Dakich too.

 Just being honest. Face facts. Yep, I'm such a horrible BG fan. That's why I'm traveling 2500 miles to come back for this game.

Sad but true! I'm in Colorado and will make the travel as well, but I took my thick lead shades off long ago. Face the fact, but still love your team is how I roll! We're not the greatest team on the planet and could surely use a ton of improvement but the system that's in place prevents that from happening (THE BCS).
