Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere, however the other day on ESPN during one of their pre-season football specials, they led with a bold prediction from our secondary - specifically that they will accumulate 33 picks this season? Possible - yeah! Probable - nope! Confident - absolutely! Figment of my imagination??????

If we can't stop the run, the safeties will need to help in run support. If the safeties are helping in run support and the corners are playing to get 33 picks, we're going to see a bunch of double move deep balls for 6 this season.
These guys are all pretty talented, but the front 7 really needs to step up to allow those safeties to cover up the CBs aggressiveness.

It's great to set high expectations, but they need to be realistic as well.
But 33 INTs is just ridiculous. Cincinnati led the NCAA with 26 INTs last year. That's the entire team. Our 33 INT goal is just for the secondary. That's almost three a game. If we get 33 INTs, I'll eat a handful of bugs.
