Greetings from Boise State

Hi Falcon Fans -- looking forward to our game in a couple of weeks. You have a class program, and the buzz is that you have an improved team that should challenge for the MAC championship this year...good luck to you in your quest!
I'm recalling the game in 2005 when BGSU played in Boise. You had a phenominal quarterback, Omar Jacobs, who had a tough outing on The Blue. I was at that game, and I believe your teams' troubles started with how your offensive play calls were made. You'd wait for our defense to get set, then Jacobs would look over to the sideline for any adjustments to the called play. After that, he'd have to yell out the new play to the rest of his offense...problem was, Bronco Stadium, although only seating 30,000, has great acoustics, and our fans would drown out Omar's calls. Have you changed how the offensive play calls come in?
We've just had an expansion to our stadium, and now a Sky Club rises the length of the field 4 stories above the stands on the west side. We're anticipating that with the new structure, even more sound will be bounced back onto the field. With our crowd going nuts, audibles will require a Pavarati-esque voice to penetrate the din!
Again...looking forward to our tilt!

Did you not see the thread about three players being suspended (and hopefully booted off the team) for the opener?

Nope. And given we still have the same coach, I'm thinking we will have the same struggles.

Has this been problematic in many of your games?
I'm not sure how the MAC is, but some schools in the WAC struggle to get 20,000 out to their games...unfortunately, noise isn't a huge problem in our league for audible-based offenses. However, Boise State isn't your Joe-Blow WAC school...the fan support out here is tremendous. We've sold out the stadium for 3 or 4 years running now, and it sounds louder than the 30,000 it seats.

Just got our tickets today for the Boise game. Gf and I are really looking forward to it.
I presume that we will be sending in plays in the same manner. Pisses me off to no end. For me it sends the message across that we don't trust our qb to make reads or change calls. In all honesty, I feel that lack of trust and confidence comes across to our on field performance.
As I said though, I'm still really looking forward to this game. I just recently moved to Idaho, and so far I'm enjoying it. I havn't seen the smurf turf in person yet. Everything I've heard is that Boise is the place to be on game day, and I can't wait to find out for myself. See ya in a couple of weeks.

I enjoyed my trip to Boise for that last game (well, almost all of my trip).
Very friendly fans, great looking campus and stadium.
Hope the fires have calmed down out there and that few Bronco fans are affected.

If you have tickets, then yes, I'd say that's a pretty good place to be on game day.

Glad you're here TG. I might have ended up in Pocatello if it weren't for you

Boise is f-ing amazing! I know we got the crap kicked out of us that day, but I've never been to an away game like that.
The fans there are total class...well except for one who came over and was yelling at the BG parents. However, the Boise fans had the cops come take him away and they all cheered, too!
I've never been to an away game where I actually felt as welcome as I did there. Everyone we passed offered us food and drinks and talked our ear off. Between it being a beautiful area, college football, and a great stadium, they only made it better. I hope a lot of you guys get to make this trip, you'll have a blast!

If any of you are making the trip to Boise, I encourage you to drop me a line and stop by our tailgate party.

This website will only be up for a short time longer. It is last year's site and we are in the process of moving providers. (Read the History, it's pretty funny.)
Look forward to seeing you in Boise. Good luck on the season.
