For at least one week, the Coach Brandon detractors need to give the coaching staff credit. Even with the distractions they had this team focused.
Below is the quote from Coach Brandon in the Pittsburgh paper.

Great job. Keep it going against Minnesota.

Biggest Brandon hater on the board, most likely. Coached a fantastic game today. Especially nice was the creatifvity inside the redzone...good stuff. Roll Along!

Great to see you give Coach B kudos, hammb. He's made mistakes, like all coaches have, but had this team ready to roll.
You really were hammered yesterday.

Just having fun, man. Will see you in 6 days to rock the Big ten.

He did coach a great game!! The whole game though, watching Sheehan, Turner and Barnes switching around at QB made me ponder something though...
Why doesn't BG just run an occasional wishbone style offense with Bullock or whoever as the FB, and both Turner and Barnes as the RBs? The options BG would have would be ridiculous! It's not something I want to see every play, but occasionally I think it would really screw with the defensive coordinator!

Yeah PIB will do that to you, but the kudos to Coach Brandon are sincere regardless of my mental state last night. The guy coached a heckuva game and deserves major props for yesterday. I may be labeled as a Brandon hater, but I'm perfectly willing to give him props when he does well...I still want him to succeed.
It was actually pretty funny yesterday there were two times that reminded me of Purdue '03. In that game as we were coming out on the final 4th down OptionQB turned to me and asked what we should do. I said we should have somebody run around for a few seconds and take the safety to escape with the win...we did. Yesterday there were two key plays that the calls were exactly what I said. The first was the long run by Bullock, before the play I said that we should think about running here, we hadn't done it in awhile, then bam he busts the big run. Then later on a key 3rd & 1 (or was it 4th & 1?) I said we should run the option, and I think it was the first option we ran all day and picked up the first down. I like it when we call the plays that I tell them to

LOL

The game turned around when Cory Partridge became the Center...I wish I could see some footage of this but it sounded interesting on the radio at least...gotta say though, those guys aren't too good at calling the game..."First and 10, Sheehan back in the shotgun, Freddie Barnes steps out of bounds for a gain of 11." WHAT!?!? Please explain to me what happened...lol

"They shouldn't be ranked ahead of us right now." That is a great quote by Coach B.
Man, what a great day yesterday. I got fed a lot of free beer at the local pub I hang out at. The 1st thing all of my friends would say when they saw me was, "How 'bout BOWLING GREEN!" and they said the 1st round was on them in honor of BG's win. I must have had 7 first rounds

Great stuff. Hopefully we keep it rollin' against Minnesota. I'll be out for that one! Where do the AZZ'ers tailgate? I'd love to stop by!! I plan on having my 1st beer in-hand by noon! See you all next Saturday.
GO BG!!

SFF,
Will be great meeting you! We gather in the far east lot over by the golf course hill...right next to I 75. I know Falcon Fanatic and BGFan will have their camper there and I plan on getting there between 1-2. Maybe 12-1 if I can talk Mrs. Freak into leaving earlier. LOL!

The Captain with a little coke, thank you very much!
Look for a large Salem LE camper...we'll be there the night before and starting our post tailgate after the HS game....leading up to the Saturday tailgate.

Used to love the BG student play by play guy several years ago: Example: "Handoff inside to Smith and he's got a huge hole! Left side, in the open! He's hit and dragging defenders, STILL GOING! And finally pulled down from behind. Second and eight, Falcons!" A little more exciting than the Pitt guys, huh?

Or Herb Score doing Indians games. "There's a deep fly ball....going out is the second baseman and he makes the catch".
