You know, I'm almost willing to call bullshit on that forecast. We have the remnants of Hurricane Gustav moving into Missouri/Illinois today. Unless that gets moving in a hurry, it could right over us on Saturday. We have to hope for the "Big Blue H" sitting over the Dakotas will keep the rain to our south.

Gustav will be pulled away by the cold front across the plains states. It isn't likely going to affect us this weekend, probably some storms Friday and maybe a lingering chance on Saturday. Chicago and St. Louis are gonna get smoked by it.

Hot, sweaty, smelly day of teaching in BG today. I hope it's cooller on Saturday. Or the beer in the Falcon Club tent is cold...

If that forecast stands, that means that by kick-off it'll hopefully be in the mid-to-upper 60s which is just perfect for an amazing game of Falcon Football. Doyt L. Perry Stadium better be packed to the rim because students won't have the weather to blame nor do they have the ohio state game to stay home and watch as that's a noon-ish kick-off.

Pack The Doyt!!!
GO FALCONS!!

It appears that the remnants of Hurricane Gustav will move to the west and north of Bowling Green (although it's far eastern edge has left us with showers today). The other storm, Tropical Storm Hanna, shouldn't come far enough inland to be a worry. We should be fine for Saturday.

Go figure, our first football game of the season, and the weather is being determined by hurricanes and tropical storms. Amazing.
