My first trip to Bowling Green

and, as I understand it, the first trip of any Big Ten team to your stadium. I am looking forward to it. I make one non-conference and one conference road trip per year and since you are our only away nc game this year - guess what. So, I'll be at the Best Western on Wooster Friday afternoon. Where should I go Friday afternoon/evening for 1) good eats 2) the Bowling Green experience ( friendly only please ) and for 3) live music? Regarding the game, I was not surprized by your win over Pitt although I am sure they were. Obviously, you guys have bragging rights at present. However, you will see a much more controlled squad with HUGE improvement by our defense. Our JUCO transfers and highly touted recruits are already obviously a valuable addition. Our offense will be basically what it was last year. Our return game is showing improvement with the addition of Troy Stoudemire from Dallas Skyline. We are a fun loving group. We come in peace but we understand that this is NCAA Division 1 football so we can dish it out and take it. So whattaya say?

You have come the best weekend of all - Black Swamp Festival Weekend!!!!
Head downtown - lots of music, food, and beverage Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
http://www.blackswamparts.org/
If you're not into the big scene - make sure you hit the following:
Myle's Pizza - order the Mexican Lovers
Campus Polleyeeyes will deliver stuffed breadsticks to the hotel.
Paglia's Pizza on South Main St. has an all-you-can eat pizza buffet.
Jed's in downtown BG (ignore hammb - he doesn't know what he talks about when he talks down Jed's)
Hit the Corner Grill for breakfast Saturday morning.
That will get you started.

You're in luck... this weekend in downtown BG is the Black Swamp Arts Festival, which includes all kinds of free live music. Take Wooster St west to downtown, Main Street will be blocked off for the festival. The main stage for music is behind the west side of the downtown businesses, south of Wooster.
Plenty of good retaurants on Main St, and also live music bars, most of them north of the Wooster/Main intersection, also on the west side of Main St.
Have fun!

All great recommendations! Might I suggest you stop by our tailgate area on Saturday as well. See the tailgate thread for info on where we'll be. Stop by and introduce yourself. We're friendly and will have loads of good food and drink.
My favorite BG food is DiBenedetto's... right on East Wooster across from campus. Not the greatest for "atmosphere" (kind of sterile with a few cool pieces of hockey memorabilia) but you can't beat their "Marathon" sub!!
Black Swamp Arts Festival will be your best bet for Friday night BG atmosphere. Live music, food, art, artists... and you'll be right in the heart of Bowling Green so you can explore downtown a little and discover what a great little college town it is!
Welcome!

Welcome aboard!! Hope you enjoy your stay in BG other than that 7:30pm-11pm block of time on Saturday.
If you only do one of the "food" options....make it a Myle's pizza. You don't even have to refrigerate the leftovers. The sauce's ju-ju is strong enough to kill bacteria and virii....

Good suggestions, except one. DON'T GO TO PAGLIAI'S! WORST PIZZA EVER!!
Thanks to all.

Myles is great for pizza. If you're looking for one of the best steaks in your lifetime hit Trotters on N. Main St. right next to the cla-zel theare. The Arts festival should take care of live music, but if you don't find what you like there, head to Howards club H. Its a big orange and brown barn (the old library I think) a little farther up N. Main St.
Transfer is definately right about the corner grill for breakfast though. I always get the "mess with cajun spice potatoes, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and cheese." If you don't say it right everyone gets confused

Welcome to Bowling Green. the Black Swamp is loads of f¨n...hit the guy who sells the jerk...its always good.
for wings you have to try Mr. Spots
For a great sub hit the Dibenedettos right next to your hotel,
for a good Italian meal, (I love the steak Marsalla) hit cucino Dibenedettos down town
Burgers and more hit Easy Street in down town...(live music up stairs...try for the hall of Foam...)
Pizza its been said, but Myles is the best pizza in the country...no s**t. they are wooster on the south side (same side as your hotle) right before the Rail road tracks.

Myles pizza is the bees knees. This thread has made me really hungry.. The one food I absolutely miss living down in c-bus, is Myles. Any time someone is coming from BG to Columbus please PM me, and I'll possibly arrange picking one up from ya
