Week 2 Preview, Picks, News & Notes

Post by MACReport »

Week two is drawing close and we have posted our week two preview at MAC Report Online. We also venture out on a limb as usual and make picks on all twleve games...now either we are going to look really smart or really dumb after this week's picks -- how about 3-0 vs the Big East and four BCS wins? Possible.

Here is the rundown of stuff in our week two preview:
--BG ticket sales picking up for home opener
--History of MAC vs. #1 Teams (not pretty)
--Week one offensvie yardage leaders
--Patriot Bowl's Disappointing Attendance
--Around the MAC Beat -- selected news around MAC campuses from our contributors
--Game Previews & Predictions (last week: 9-3)
--Next week's schedule

Danite Love???

And those predictions are out there. I predict that:

- Navy will beat Ball State
- No way Ohio U scores 10 points in Columbus
- UConn will beat Temple
- EMU will not stay within 14 points of MSU
- No way Central scores 23 on Georgia
- Akron will not win in the Carrier Dome
- Pittsburgh will rebound for a win over Buffalo

The rest are probably fairly close but I don't see Toledo giving up that many points unless they have an all out collapse again.

Yeah, I thought that Arizona score was out there too...seemed like he picked numbers out of a hat for that one.

I think OU is going to get shut out and so will CMU.

I agree with RWTom on a couple of these. If Ohio scores on OSU, I will be surprised since the Bobcats have NO running game and can't pass the ball much, either. CMU will score on GA but 23 points is a lot against a team like GA.

I do think Ball State will beat Navy and Temple takes out UConn...especially after getting robbed last year at UConn.

I don't think some of the picks are that bad.
Syracuse is horrible. Two bad teams playing each other you never know. Temple had a horrible TD call go against them last year or they would have beat UConn.

Ball State will beat Navy

Well, sounds like they're effed because last time I checked, these are the things you have to do when playing football.

With the recent renovations it's just above 23,000 I believe.

Officially, 23,724. I think they usually round it off to 24K now. As long as all the seats are filled, I'm cool.

You do realize Georgia is not No. 1 anymore right? I know I'm splitting hairs here.

Last two Patriot Bowl games have drawn 10,000 and 17,000. They are going to reevaluate the game in Cleveland according to Laing Kennedy, the Kent athletic director.

Didn't we draw 30,000 plus for the Wisconsin game a few years back in Clevealnd? Also, don't the Rockets play OSU coming up in Cleveland the next few yearas?
